Just tried that, She dident. Just to clairfy, is she supposed to come back when you speak with the arishok dude?. In either case i tried the other option to give the qunari the book, but made no diffrence whatsoever. She runs and dosent seem to come back. Unless she appear much later on.

She comes back when you confront the arishok at viscounts throne room, not when you talk with him at the qunari compound (with Aveline and the guardsmen).

Well my game glitched. After she left my party I got her "Questioning Beliefs" quest. Maybe it was because during the warehouse fight in "To Catch A Thieft" I just got her reputation high enough to start it, but it was too late. So, she's gone for good. I guess when I replay as a Rogue I'll romance her.

Thanks to her i will not get my platinum trophy in my 3th playthrough... In the LAST ACT you will need her companion quest to get one ****ing dammed Ambrosia....

Sigh... please don't necropost 3-week-old threads.

That said, you don't actually need to romance her, though it helps. All you need to get her to return in Act 2 is get 50% approval in either friendship or rivalry, then complete her Questioning Beliefs quest before she runs off at the end of her "To Catch a Thief" companion quest. If you have other questions, or are having a hard time getting Isabela's approval, I suggest taking a look at the Isabela FAQ, linked in my sig.

In order to get Isabela to stay you have to do her questioning beliefs conversaton before the end of act 2, as well as having a 50% friendship or rivalry. Make sure to give her the ship in a bottle. Then when both Isabela and Aveline confront Hawke at the estate make sure to help Isabela first. It shouldn't matter if you tell her to give the relic back or to keep it as it only affects the friendship and rivalry bar. Though if you have a friendship relationship with her tell her to keep it; in a rivalry to her to give it back to the qunari. If you do all this she should come back when confronting the arishok, if not then it's a bug.

I've given up on re-locating Isabela. I had done Tranquility and I searched every pixel of The Hanged Man twice without finding her even though the quest was active... That's just not good enough!

Reading the comments in this thread just proves to me that the game is so full of errors (quests and cutscenes that does not triggger) that it is pure coincidence/luck if you're able to play the game without noticing any major faults.

I really wish I hadn't paid for the game (this is when piracy would be appropriate, I guess).

However, the real fault lies at BioWare's lazy programmers (or their greedy commercial owners).
This game should never have been released before it was properly tested. It is so bugged, it's barely playable.
Not even two update patches have solved the main problems yet. This makes me angry - especially because BioWare has made so much money on this game.

it just burns my nuggets that there are so few ways to bump Isabella's friendship meter (without sleeping with her) in act two. I'm nearing the end and though she's on the blue side, she's not quite there, and I have nothing left to do that could push her any higher. As a side note, I have gotten her to come back in other playthroughs, it just irks me when my options are limited and I fail to get her to come back. The whole friendship/rivalry in DA2 isn't any 'better' than the set up for DAO. Sure, the companions won't try to outright kill the PC when said PC's shmuckery level has been maxed out, but the whole disappearing and never returning thing because the NPC isn't far enough into the blue or red?

I'd rather the NPC's tried to kill my PC. At least then, it's straight forward. And, as a bonus, in DAO the NPC's would warn the PC they were getting fed up. Don't even get that with DA2.

Oh well, que sera sera.

There's 55 available friendship points in Act 2 without flirting or sleeping with Isabela (of which you need 50 to trigger Questioning Beliefs). I would suggest reading the Isabela FAQ linked in my sig for specifics.

 I hate to rez this thread, but I feel it's better than making a new one. I had this problem with my game and found a possible solution (haven't got to the battle to test it yet). Here goes:
Note: this is for PC only.

Open up the console. for more info on the console, go here.
type this in: 
runscript zz_isa_debug
this will bring up Isabela's debug menu. Go to:
Plot>Other Plot Dialogs>Act 2>Midstage Friendship
The game will trasport you to the hanged man and questioning beliefs will be in your quest log!
I will update when I get to the battle with the qunari.

Isabela is now back in my party in act 3.

 Here's a fun one. I'm in the middle of offered and lost.  I hear everybody talking about "to catch a thief". I go look it up on the wiki. Supposedly i'm suppose to walk in to the middle of a fight between isabela and aveline. I've gone in and out of mu estate hundreds of times in Act 2. This scene has never occured. I still have isabela in my party. We're about to go see ser varnell's rally. I've pretty much done every other quest in this act. Have i glitched? Or does this scene not occur until i complete this quest? Sorry guys! I'm just really confused!

The DLC can cause some strange glitches, i've recently missed a fair chunk of content out of act 3 and had a very surreal romance scene with Merrill. But i think in your case i suspect you have to complete this quest, from the information you have supplied.
