One of the things that I missed from the HUD was the Radar, in ME:1, it was always there and you could spot the enemies better, you could locate them more easily. In ME:2 if you wanted to look at the Radar you had to bring up the power wheel. Now I realize that not everyone likes the Radar, it does add 'clutter' to the screen, but if we had an option to toggle it on or off then it seems like the best of both worlds to me. I know, its a small thing, but I really missed it.

Just bash head on the keyboard!  It's a nice big spacebar, and positioned right on the bottom for easy access to the forehead.

I'll type a sentence with it now.

I want a pony and some fried chicken please.

I didn't feel either ME1 or ME2's HUD failed to get the job done. In ME1, when you could apply medigel to heal squaddies before they got knocked out it made sense. In ME2 exactly what are you going to do to save your squadmates from going down even if you had a numeric health total on each of them? Revive them or use better tatctics so they are not sitting ducks to begin with. I think squad AI in ME2 was way better. The only efficacy from ME1 squadies was biotics were a big I win when they triggered them. They would use guns they were poor at and shoot from a distance not hitting the enemy behind cover at all. I defintiely could count on more squad kills in ME2. They were just better even though powers/abilities were nerfed.

while using sayian scouter you can detect enemy silhouettes.
Dont worry about the "weapon they are holding" problem... thats a bit too much

Actually, thinking on it a bit more...

I'd love to see a system like the detective mode from Batman Asylum.

Have only the bare minimum needed in normal mode, but in detective mode you get everything.

That way it's up to the player how much info he gets at any one time.

No, I disagree. I thought about that detective mode but realised it would actually do more harm than use. In ME the amount of chaos on screen is 20 times bigger than in Batman. Next people are going to ask for x-ray vision, thermal and then structural-integrity and bio-residues. Add few dozen enemies to that and biotic powers and you get 10 frames per second combat. Are all those visions really necessary? This isn't Batman, Predator or Splinter Cell.

I dont think health needs to be shown in a bar. To go back to dead space again, as Isaac was more hurt, his animations changed, limping, breathing heavy and heart pumping. No bloody screen.

In a game where your health quickly regenerates, you just need to know when you need to chill and take cover. Animation and audio can do that.

For shields: There is some kind of armor in mass effect 2 that improves your shield, donno what it is called. It has those round nodes that I presume are the shield generators. If your shield is down, they flikker faintly red, and changes back to blue when your shield charges. They spark when the shield is hit, are fade from blue to red as they are getting lower, and flikker when the shield is down.

Weapons: I can imagine a crosshair when shepard is using a visor, but again, liked the laser system in dead space AND the DLC pistol. (so i think youguys are already looking in to it, by experimenting in DLC, which is a good thing!)

Other stuff like menu, inventory, commands etc: i loved the RIG in dead space, so i say MOAR OMNI TOOL! Like in shadow broker, you could watch movies on the shadowbrokers ship, scrolling and zooming with your hand. Thats what I like to see! Or Kasumi scrolling through pictures in the cab on the way to the mansion.

So, a combination of Dead space 2 holographic RIG, Coördinated by hand movements (minority report style), all from the omni tool! The name of the devise implies that it can do loads of stuff!

ps: I love the fact that bioware is inspired by fan ideas!!

This is actually what I said few pages ago and it sounds really immersive. Like in RE5 if you get on critical health your character becomes slow and holds his ribs in pain but I don't know how much would it mess with the gameplay. If you need cover quickly getting slowed down might be a problem.

I greatly preferred ME1's HUD system. The only thing it needed was an indicator for when cool downs had finished, otherwise there was no need to change it.

In Mass Effect 2, keeping track of squadmate health and status is unnecessarily difficult during combat.

As it has been stated already, that's not practical for technical reasons.

I prefer ME1's HUD. Give me a clear readout of squad health and shields (at the same time), a proper radar screen that is visible without having to push a button, and a functional map for all levels.

Also no more ammo power displays that light up my gun like it's a Christmas lawn ornament. My armor already has enough bright and shiny bells and whistles.

*Also crouch and collapsible/hide melmet option. Please?

I like the direction the team are going in trying to bring a more immersive experience to ME3. Dead Space 2 has certainly raised the bar in terms of immersion, but I think it could be surpassed by ME3 especially with the technology that is part of the lore of the Mass Effect universe.

As have already been commented by both random posters and a dev: This is not practical, as they are different games needing different interfaces to perform in a desirable way.

I'm a gadget-lover, so I missed the radar scope from ME1. Never felt I needed it in ME2, but missed having a doodad in my lower right screen corner.

I'd gladly take some sort of roving map display in place of the radar scope for ME3. I just want something cool to look at in what would otherwise be a dead screen corner.

Well I didn't have much problem with ME2 hud but seeing the status of squadmates was extremely difficult. The moment I noticed was when they were already dead. I have to say that I love the idea of helmet auto-deployment in combat and that it activates the hud which is hidden when helmet is off.

They're using this forum to see if they should put a deadspace like HUD in ME3
