I was in the middle of the game, and all of a sudden I can't unlock chests, open doors or talk to my companions. In other words, the right-click button on my mouse suddenly stopped working. This never happened to me before, and I suspected maybe I've pressed certain buttons on the keyboard that rendered this right-click usage useless. Any tips on how to get it working again? Thanks in advance

I've had the same thing happen, with loot after a battle. Can't pick up anything or open chests with the right click. I've also got issues with Hawke (Rogue) refusing to attack in battle, while the companions rage alongside. Here, he will be standing with weapons drawn, but I can't select an enemy with the right click, or start any kind of move. In battle, I select a companion, and Hawke will continue to fight in "tactics" mode. Then I can reselect him again later in the battle, and all will be well.

On the problem related to YOUR right click, I wasn't able to pick up anything in the scene where it happened to me using ANY character, and had to reload the previous save and re-do the battle (then it was working again). You might try selecting another companion to pick up things or open a chest (assuming you have a Rogue, of course), but I think the age old PC advice still rules: Save Often

In my case I found if you Alt Tab out of the game then go back to the game it seems to fix it for awhile.

Sometimes hittng escape to the options screen works but not always.

This has been raised before and I think the Devs are aware of the issue and it may be mentioned in the thread Temporary 30+ second freeze as well.

You don't have to revert back to an old save if you want to fix this actually. When you get stuck like this, save your game then exit the program completely - don't just roll back to the game menu and reload else the bug will still be present. After exiting completely, reopen and reload your save game and you should be fine.

I'll keep this in mind next time I'm faced with this problem again.

This happens frequently for me in battle and occasionally outside of battle.

(Cannot click on ground or enemy to select target.)

I have to click on another party member's portrait to switch and then switch back to the first party member and the problem is gone.

Happens very frequently.

Just to add another report: I get the same thing -- right-click stops working until I've clicked another character, then clicked back to Hawke. I hope the comment about about the devs being aware of this is correct, since it does happen quite a lot.
