I love them both, Bethany is so sweet, innocent, has a heart of gold and absolutely adores Hawke.

Carver comes off as a brat I know, but he is basicly going through his rebelious teen phase with Hawke as the person he feels he needs to break free from, he simply wants to make his own fortune and not be weighted down by magic or overshadowed by Hawke. cant really blame him and his most redeeming quality is that he´ll fiercly protect Hawke despite being disgruntled.

Also Hawkes aggressive response to Carvers accusation that Hawke did not do enough to protect Bethany is one of the most goose bumps worthy moment in the entire game, it was absolutely priceless and Lady Hawke portrays it magnificently.

Carver. He's so much more.... real for me. I know some people have issues with Carver because he doesn't just agree with them or instantly follow along like an obedient dog, but that's what I like about him. He disagrees with me, and he takes his frustrations out on me. It's what family does. That's why I can connect with him so well.

Bethany felt like someone elses ideal version of sister. All sweetness and light, little actual character.

Carver felt like family, he could be an annoying jerk and sometimes you hated his his guts and he hated yours, but at the end of the day as he tells Fenris, "If you have a problem with my sister, you have a problem with me."

They both suck, since they either Die, join templars/Circle, or become a Grey Warden.

Haha so true! Though when Warden Bethany came back to help me in the final fight/quest, man she had a lot of attribute points, about 10 more than Anders or Merrill :D

Bethany, always, but one time i made a custom mage Hawke and Bethany's appearance turned out so ugly that i was glad she was killed, even then, Carver and Leandra were so ugly that i couldn't wait for them to be killed.

LOL!!! Do you have pics?

Bethany, I went through the whole game after act 1 thinking "templars have my sister, they are gonna go through hell for this." The fact that by the end Bethany is glad that you sided with the mages and now understands why she ran from the circle was just the satisfactory end note I needed.

Carver reminds me of my brothers, so he definitely gets my vote. Good thing it's fun to be a mage! Image IPB

Bethany. For everyone saying shes too sweet, becoming a Warden makes her a badass. Carver was okay but the fact he joined the Templars was a tad too far for me.

Both siblings are great for different reasons. I think Carver as a character might be a bigger success, however, since he has more reasons to want to strike out on his own. Bethany on the other hand seems more prone to being joined to her older sibling at the hip. It was awesome seeing Carver fight alongside his apostate sister in the end. Truly.

Caver so far. Yes, he's an ass but he feels real and he has you back no matter what if he's a gray warden.
The Hawke Brothers for ever.

Bring Carver with you to the deeproads with Anders in your party. You'll see it.

Bethany. Hands down. I stopped being forgiving about Carver's {take your pick of bad word}y crapness after he brought up dead Bethany. Right after complaining about helping MOM out... Selfish, jealous ******.

Yeah, that really made me mad...I wish there was a "punch" option on the wheel for that moment;)

I liked Bethany Carver irritated me to no end during my Mage playthroughs only time I found him tolerable was when he joined the Gray Wardens he just came off to whiny already even whining in this game between Sebastain and Anders ( oddly enough loved using Anders in Party ) I remember my first time in the deep roads with my 2h char she died hated it and redid the deep roads cuz Bethany just seems down to earth ^_^

I like Bethany the best because, like my Hawkes, she understands the importance of family. Yes, Carver is young and didn't grow up in an ideal situation, but I think a lot of his ideas are in his head. We don't know about Papa Hawke, but Mama Hawke seems to love everyone pretty equally so I can't imagine Carver lacking positive maternal attention, at least.

In all fairness, I am going to make Carver a Grey Warden in this playthrough and see if he really is less of an ass than he was as a templar...which that in itself made me so mad because he became a templar in our mage family! Of course, he didn't turn Hawke in, but still...bad little brother!

Does this hug happen if you side with the templars? Cause I sided with the mages and didn't get this with my Hawke and Bethany.

Yeah, you first side with the Templars, cut down Orsino into tiny bits, then protect Bethany when Meredith wants to cut her.

Then Bethany will hug you.

Carver. I guess, deep down inside, I kind of liked arguing with him, he reminds me of my own little sister.

Bethany was ok, I have yet to see how she is in Act 3, so my opinion might change.

Carver, all the way.

He has more balls than Hawke, joining the templars to get them off the family's back, because Hawke is too afraid to turn himself in. Carver's entire life is running away from templars because his sibling was born differently, and won't turn themself in, ruining the childhood of two others.

Carver jumped feet-first into Hell, so Hawke didn't have to.

That commands respect.

Also, templars rule. Even if I have sided against them at the end in every playthrough so far.

I'm not sure where you get that Carver joins the templars to get them off the families back, Carver himself said he joined them cause he was always trapped in Hawke's shadow. He felt he could never excel at anything out of fear it would draw to much attention to the family. He's just a greedy little **** who joins the templars to spite Hawke, I will give him credit for not turning Hawke into the templars and showing some family loyalty.
