Ok this has really annoyed me as of late.. That 9 out of 10 robes are bad looking dresses... With default Hawke suppose to be a mage wearing not robes but a assortment of leather and plate armor.. What I would request is a reworking of the majority of the mage robes to either be more appealing robes, or to map them over as rogue leather armor for many of them..
[Request] Improve mage armor graphics

Ya i've pretty much used mods and cheats to avoid having to wear Robes.
Robes are actually why I NEVER played a mage in DA:O (that and it's boring as hell to watch them fight). But with the new fighting animation and style it's a blast, except for those dam ugly robes.
Thank goodness for Sunnie and her Champions Armor mod.

Agreed, Im actualy now working on something to have the mage armors have some armor on then like ChampionArmor has, but im a complete noob on the 3d-editing even when I use numerous 3d-programs for my work
I will post results here asap I have something to report, also Im trying to get the Warden Armor from DA2 and move it to DAO/Awakening

I really loved my one robe near the beginning. Bethany wears it if you aren't a mage. It is just called "Robes" so hard to define beyond that.
The funniest thing for me is, you can well tell who is an apostate or mage simply by the robes. It is funny I have to point out " Hey, guess what, Anders is a mage!" and then everyone gets mad at him. *grins* It is pretty clear: boys in long gown cloak/cap/coat things with feathers = mage. lol
True apostates would probably be dressed as rogues or the common man in those ugly pants.
So yes, being able to get out of the robes sometimes would be cool.
ps. I have no success (yet) importing into 3dsmax or Maya. How did you manage it??

I would love to see a mod that just replaces most of the mumu robes with the light cloth/leather variants of some of the rogue armours that look like they're right out of Assassin's Creed 2. There's a tutorial on item graphics swapping here, somewhere.
