I think Bioware is smart enough to not attempt an MMO in the Dragon Age universe at the same as The Old Republic is being released. If The Old Republic fails(I hope not), then they should continue with single player games.
They won't compete with themselves. TOR is expensive enough as it is--why increase costs and split revenues?

They'll be lucky if they can get SW:TOR not do a great big belly flop so i don't think they'd sink a load of money into two of them at the same time...

Although having a DA MMO would be kind of cool. Not one that takes place during the current storyline, but something that takes place in the past. I could support that. But for now I'll just wait for Guild Wars 2.

Running one MMO is costly enough, so no.
Tell that to SOE.
I (among others) thought that the KOTOR storyline wasn't ready for it after KOTOR II, but then came TOR...
Also, I think Dragon Age: Legends and Star Wars: The Old Republic might be test subjects for whether or not a DAMMO would be a viable option. Not to mention the DLC structure is structured in a manner similar to MMOs...

If such a thing would happen, I would boycott EA and stand out front of their head office with a picket sign.

I think if BioWare do make another MMO, then it will be Mass Effect because I could easily see that making a transfer to that gaming genre.
Since it's BioWare I will try Star Wars The Old Republic, but the problem for me I get bored with MMOs so quickly it probably won't be for me in the long-term.

If it does turn out to be an MMO, I won't play it. No hard feelings to people who play or developers who make MMOs, but I don't like them. There will always be new games, some better than others. I'll be a bit disappointed, but such is life sometimes.
I agree. I never found MMO's appealing, therefore I'll not play them. That's my personal opinion and I mean no disrespect for those who absolutely love them.
I'm not tied to Bioware, nor do I have any sense of loyalty to them. They turned out great games, and I absolutely love many of them (not all, mind you). That's why I spent my money on them. If they start turning out games I dislike, oh well, there'll be others.
That said, it would be a very risky endeavor to put out two MMO's, especially in the same company. Many, or even most, of the MMO's put out never made it. I'm not sure, because I have zero interest in those type of games, but it seems to me that WoW established itself as just about the only one that made it work.

Also, blizzard will be releasing a new mmo as wow dies down, they do not plan on having two running at full force - they would simply steal subscriptions from each other.

EA might...but I think BioWare would take a pretty solid stand there...
..besides...it could very likely be EA pushing for 3 MMO's over the next two to three years, with the conclusion of the ME trilogy.
..like I said. BioWare wouldn't be that dumb. TOR is already blown the budget and the budgets dog.

You're looking at it the wrong way. It won't be a MMO, it will just have multiplayer.
No it won't. The multiplayer thing was just some vague ramblings, which have been around since DA:O came out anyway.

EA aren't stupid either; they may release largely similar cash-cow sports titles every year that you can set your watch by, but they do this because they sell like stella artois and casual misogny to the fans that buy them for the roster updates. They're as aware of the risk reward ratio of an MMO as anyone, and won't try competing with themselves.
This is not to say a DA MMO would never be viable though. But to do it they need A: a stable world in a story sense (ie they'll want to finish the single player series before considering it - just think Warcraft 1-3 followed by WoW) and B: No in house competition. Both of these points lead to one inexorable conclusion: if we are to ever see a DA MMO, it will be many many years away.
