I picked the "Martyr" preset, which has the Warden sacrificing herself to kill the Archdemon. So how come at the end of DA2, Seeker Cassandra and Leliana still talk as if the Warden were still alive? Cassandra told Leliana that the Champion is "gone, just like the Warden." and Varric just said that he highly doubted that the Champion is dead. So it's not that meaning of "gone.". Plus Leliana says, "that is no coincidence", about them both being gone. Well yeah I know the Warden being "gone" is no coincidence--she's DEAD. The Origins import had so little impact as it is, couldn't they have made sure that what little there is, that they get it right?

Warden refers to Warden-Commander, the hero of Awakening. Not the Hero of Ferelden, the hero of Origins.

It's suppose to possibly mean the Warden is dead.

The only thing I didn't enjoy about it was the comment about how "The Warden is missing as well. That can't be coincidence". Uhm... no, because my Warden died.

She didn't say the Warden was missing. She said the Warden was gone.

Not gone in the same way, perhaps, but similarly beyond their reach.

Thanks for bringing the official explanation to my attention. But, I already thought about the double meaning of the word "gone.". And I mentioned it in my original post. However, Varric said the Champion is not dead ("gone") and then Cassandra says the Champion is gone JUST LIKE the Warden. Leliana's comment also makes no sense in that context: Would anyone think the Warden being dead to the Archdemon had anything to do with Kirkwall's champion errand-boy/girl?

Taleroth I think your explanation about the warden being the Awakening warden actually makes more sense. Is there anything official to back it up?
