Just finished Ostagar, and now I'm heading to to the Tower. I'm playing male elf mage, and I want to be primarily an Arcane warrior with Blood Mage for my secondary spelization. I'd max out Arcane warrior, and go up to blood wound for blood mage.
For spells I'd get mind blast, force feild, telekinetic weapons, crushing prison, heal, winters grasp, frost weapons, cone of cold, rock amour, stone fist, arcane sheild, and the whole Glyph line.
For weapons I'd probably mainly use sword and sheild while switching with a staff for certain spells.
I'd try to get about 40-50 for both con and magic, 16 cunning, and 20 dex.
Not sure who my main party members will be though...
Any thoughts?
My Arcane warrior will primarily be a tank, but I'll still cast some spells. Arcane warrior and Blood mage sound bad*** but (obvously) I've never tried them before.
Is This a Good Arcane Mage Build?

Why on earth would you get 40-50 con?! Boost your magic, maybe a bit of will, but magic makes you swing harder with a sword as well as with spells, and if you are killing stuff quick enough you wont have to get 40-50 con.

If you are playing on the PC, you may wish to add the Respec mod and alter all those CON pts into Mgc, Will, and Dex. I personally like a finishing Willpower of 20-30, and occasionally a DEX of 30 IF you wish to use daggers for the extra Rune slots; otherwise 20 maybe good enough. But Mgc is your key stat, and will sub for STR with that Arcane Warrior first slot selection.
Note: While you can "Tank", unless you get Haste or have a lot of Swift salve, you are on auto-swings, so plan your patience accordingly.

I always went magic/dex. I play solo on nightmare and it works fine for me.
I really wouldn't suggest using heal unless you're totally against potions. The reason for that is if your magic is high enough, even a lesser health potion will fully (or nearly) heal you. If you're not playing on nightmare, you might just want to go pure magic.
The Dex is needed because on nightmare, things get harder to hit, and the chance to dodge doesn't hurt either.
Willpower isn't needed at all, You get extra mana with each level up, and those boosts are enough for the sustain spells you might want to use.
Cunning 16 is fine, seeing as how as an elf mage, you will have exactly 16 cun after the fade section of the game, so you won't really need to put any points here.
Having two weapon enchants on the same character isn't really needed, as one mage isn't capable of activating both. If you were planning on having another mage in the party, like say Wynne, you could give her frost and fire weapons, while the tank keeps Telekinetic Weapons (Because crushing prison is great to have while blood wound is on cooldown.) The only party buff that you would really want on two mages is haste. Have Wynne cast haste, then have your arcane warrior cast haste, and your AW along with the other two party members will have double haste, and Wynne will have single haste.
Another great line to have is the mana clash line. Simply because mana clash is just so powerful, and can put down multiple enemy mages (boss or otherwise) in one hit. You also get spell might, which isn't that useful as spellpower doesn't increase an AW's attack power, but it will improve your spells, but as I said you won't really get the full use of this unless you play awakening.
And here is a biggie, Miasma. It lowers the attack and defense of all enemies around your AW. and if they don't pass a physical resistance check, they also become slower. I'd say this is one of the most important sustain spells for the arcane warrior.
I could go more in-depth with this, but I will stop here. I'm not saying that this is the only way to play an Arcane warrior, it's just my preference.
