I have a terrible memory so I wanted to start a thread where I (and hopefully others) can post the easter eggs and Origins references heard in the game.  I'll start off with a few things I've noticed.

Forgive me if there's already a thread started about this.  I looked back a few pages and didn't see one.  I figured it would be best to post it here since it's companions and NPCs that actually say all of these wonderful things.

-- Not sure if this truly qualifies, but being a writer myself, I find it very likely it's an inside joke between the writers. In a  Merrill and Sebastian party banter, they're discussing the Chant of Light.  Merrill ends the banter with the comment, "It's a nice story, but I think it's got some holes."  I can just hear someone in the writing pool saying that.

-- In my second playthrough I'm using a mage Warden import and during Anders' first personal quest in Act 2, he gives a nod to this by saying "A mage saved all of us from the Blight."

-- And for a true easter egg, in Act 3, at the docks, near the statue during the day, I heard a dock worker say, "Load 16 tons and what do I get?"  Not sure if there was more, was running away and couldn't get back in time, but this just made me laugh as it's a direct quote from an old song, "Sixteen Tons" by Tennessee Ernie Ford. (Thanks to Princess Katrina for the correction!)

So, what are some easter eggy things y'all have heard?  Curious minds would love to know!  :P

Using my Female Mage Warden import, when I clicked on Cullen in Act 2, he goes on about how he used to know an Amell back in Ferelden, gets dreamy-eyed, and says he's yet to meet another like her. I got a kick out of that!

The 'talkative man' in the Hanged Man has funny things to say sometime, don't remember the exact quotes, but...

"Don't you ever feel like you're part of a story?"

"Doesn't everything feel easier? Eating, drinking, everything is much less complex."

something along those lines.

In the Hanged Man when you ask the bartender for rumors, he mentions that the pigeon population in Ferelden has taken a nosedive. I died laughing thinking of Shale wandering the country exterminating pigeons so successfully that the tales reach the Free Marches.

The barman in the Hanged Man said something about the population of pigeons in Ferelden being systematically destroyed... Shale for you :)

This is more of a suggestion than something I'm sure of. There's an oddly familiar picture in the Hanged Man on the right of Isabela's default position (as if you were to approach her from behind).

Given that you're refering to Isabela, that's funnier than you may have intended.

I think the inscription on the inside of Nanette's wedding ring in Act 1 is a lyric from from the song "Forever Young".

When you ask your mother about Mages in the Family, and if your Warden was an Amell, she says something along the lines, " Hero of Ferelden is one of us, you know? She's one of my Cousin <insert unpronounceable name here>'s kids who was taken to the Circle back in Ferelden."

-Also, if Alistair stayed with Warden in origins and was romanced by warden, he give Hawke an Amulet, which presumably belonged to warden ( with a very sad face)

-Bodahn, also mentions here of Ferelden, saying that 'she was a fine woman, indeed.'

He's been eating a lot, that's for sure XD

-When Isabella betrays you n Fade, she says, 'I like big boats and I can not lie.'

There were several of those 4th wall jokes.  Like in the discussion with Carver, Hawke says "I'm sure someone thought way too long about my name."

Varric references The Fugitive and the one-armed man.

Varric also nods to the dialogue wheel in Sebastian's quest, responding to everything you say with "...Hawke says sarcastically" etc.  Loved that.  Image IPB

I wonder if Hawke's "One less to worry about!" battle cry counts - it's what Garrus frequently says. What do you guys think?

Also, this:

That was a truly amazing moment! Varric is pure awesomeness!

In Hawke's mansion there is only a reference to Friends' Ugly Naked Guy if you look at the window on the first floor.

As for Origins references, I don't remember exactly what they were saying, but two patrons in the Hanged Man were discussing the Archdemon and his defeat in Act 1.

@bamboofox My eyes went so wide when I picked up the rod of fire request form. It was such an inspired little nod to DAO to toss in there. Those things feel like a reward for playing the first game.

Varric makes a "Cheers" reference about The Hanged Man, "...where everybody knows your name." Also, in Act 3 everyone yells "Hawke!" when you walk into The Hanged Man (another Cheers homage).

There's a group of assassins in act 2 (during Sketch's quest) called "Rivaini Legendary Beards".

Okay, I forgot about the junk!  How could I forget the junk???

Chipped Serpent Statuettes
Glamour Charms (both the chipped and useless variety, I believe)

@EnchantedEyes - Oh wow!  I didn't talk to Cullen this time around (was trying hard to avoid pining over his voice lol) but now I'm going to have to see if I can go back just to hear that!

@Arlias - Yes!  I love the bartender!

@Jadefishes and Draongette - Re:  Bartender... Especailly the pigeon comment.

@Malja - I went back and looked at that pic!  That's hilarious!  I don't think I noticed it before.

@Patriciachr - Oh very cool!  I'll have to look for that ring inscription next time!  And the Cheers reference is good!  This is why I need this thread!  I see/hear all this stuff and then forget it.  LOL

@Kyle - *waves*  Did you get the mod that transports the proper flags from Awakening?  Ejoslin found some dialog that is supposed to trigger for an Alistair Warden if the flags are set (unless of course, like Zevran, it's bugged).  I can't wait to see Alistair as a Warden... I've seen him as king and as a drunk now.  (Drunk was WAY cool because of Teagan coming to save him.)  And yeah, I love the Isabella big boat thing!  Thanks for reminding me!

@Addai - *waves*  I love that kind of stuff... ate it up in Origins and love hearing it in DA2.  I haven't gotten that banter from Varric yet... can't wait until I do!   Where'd you find the Pantaloons?  Is that more junk?  As for the velvet Cailan... loved it!  Just about died laughing at that one.

@Bambooxfox - I'd forgotten about Garrus!  Oh that's sooooooo cool!  And yes!  There's quite a bit of junk referring to Origins (see my short list above).

@Andrea - I never watched Friends, so I was wondering what/if that referenced anything!  Thanks!!  And I do love the convo in the Hanged Man where the two patrons are discussing the AD and one claims he could kill it.  Too funny!

@Maria - *waves* Very cool about the queen reference!  I haven't done a queen import yet, so that's good know it will be acknowledged.

@Jenovan - *waves* The Rivaini Legendary Beards!  O.M.G.!!  It wasn't until you said this that I put two and two together.  Guess the only thing that would have made that funnier was is if their leader was named Duncan.
