The One True Pantaloons!

Oh. I looked everywhere for pantaloons, but obviously not EVERYWHERE. Where were they?

I found 'em in a chest somewhere and then gave 'em to a dwarf in Hightown.

There's a GI Joe reference....Caught it in passing once...never saw it again. Merchant in the Wounded Coast (I think) says something about Knowing is Half the Battle.

Anyone else notice that the animations for Hawke taking a drink are the same as Shepard's? (I mean they do that neck-twist thing when they're downing a shot).

Yes.  Image IPB  I noticed it with Isabela because, well, she's always drinking.  Now all we need is an animation of Hawke awkwardly dancing.

Edit:  Was I dreaming or was there a reference to "go for the eyes", something fancy like "aim for the oracular orbs" or something like that?  I should've written it down.

Go for the optics. :D

"One more for me! How many have you got, Hawke?" I think it's the reference to Zevran, about keeping score, which in turn is a reference to lord of the rings. XD

When you first meet Alistair in DA:O, he's arguing with a mage. When you meet King Alistair in DA2, he's arguing with a templar...

Using my Female Mage Warden import, when I clicked on Cullen in Act 2, he goes on about how he used to know an Amell back in Ferelden, gets dreamy-eyed, and says he's yet to meet another like her. I got a kick out of that!

Aww! I haven't gotten to that part yet with my mage import but nice~ Damn I want Cullen as a LI.

When you do the quest to frame a templar in act two, when you speak to the harbormaster he says he'll deal with the shipment once they've finished 'unloading the Antivan Queen', a reference to the Templar guarding the Circle Tower Ferry in DAO who says he's the Queen of Antiva :D

Also the framed Templar's name is Ser Conrad, a reference to Conrad from ME :)

Hi Giggles!  Okay, that one went over my head.  Explain, please.  LOL

@Sural - I'll have to go listen for the "knowing" line.  Too funny!

@Outlaw - Yes, I noticed that.  In fact, I expected the drink to be drugged the first time I tried it.

@Addai - I haven't heard that one about the eyes!  I always liked that "tip" in Origins.

@Kyle - I just love that line of Varric's!  Reminds me of all the times in Origins when I'd be getting pissed off at my companions KSing me, thereby getting those extra couple of XP points, only to find myself getting "caught out" by Zev with him asking if anyone was keeping score.  Too funny!

@movie_diva - That whole Sandal in the Deep Roads scene is pure win with them asking what the heck he's doing there (like most of us did in RL when we ran into him in Ft Drakon) on top of Bodahn telling Hawke that Sandal had a knack for wandering off, explaining how Sandal wound up in Ft Drakon in the first place!

@Maria - I hadn't thought of that about the mage vs the Templar thing!  How funny!

@artsangel - OMG!  You're sooooooo right about the queen thing!  I love it!!

The Grue is most famous (though did not originate) from the old Zork text adventure games. If you went into a dark room, you'd get the following description:

> It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

- If Alistair ended up a drunkard at the end of Origins, he appears in the Hanged Man a couple times. Teagan makes a cameo the second time as well.

- When you provide the maps to Varric's brother for the expedition with Anders in the party, he says "A mage did it."

- Anders also mentions "two mages, one of which was an apostate" who helped save Ferelden from the blight. I believe he says three mages if you had a mage warden.

- If Alistair is king, he will recognize Isabella in the party if she's present. He'll say something along the lines of "you look different." To which she responds, "Don't we all?"

- Extra dialogue with Zevran with Isabella in the party.

- Extra dialogue with Nathaniel with Anders in the party.

If you play with the Dalish elf background in origins you start in the clan where Marethari is keeper. The same one camped out on that mountain in DA 2. Also Merrill accompanies the warden when they go back to examine the evil mirror in the prologue of origins.

Oh and also Bethany mentions how much she hated that qunari that killed her best friend in Lothering. (Obviously referencing Sten.)

Carver also makes a coment about Sten. Something along the lines of "there are so many qunari in Kirkwall, the one we had in Lothering was enough".

Any other Baldur's gate fans here? Back from the good old Black Isle days?

Varric makes a comment in the Hanged man: "Wanna see something funny? Filrt with Edwina. I dare you!"

If you play the facebook game, Legends the old mage Derant will say "Go for the eyes Boo!" when he does a critical.

I believe the pantaloons is a old Baldurs gate thing too.

Will be keeping an eye [or ear] out for more old Black Isle stuff!

I was most excited about the "rod of fire permission slip" (something like that) I found towards the end of the game, because it brought back all sorts of memories from the mage origin.

It literally made me go, "Awwwww those were the days" hehe

I can't believe I forgot this in my first post!  I about died laughing the first time Anders asked if anyone needed healing after a battle.  To anyone who's ever played a tabletop RPG, you'll know that's a classic throwback to those days when the healers didn't know how badly hurt everyone was.

@Artsangel - Thanks for eplaining!  I vaguely remember the grue now that you mention it!

@harktag - That's soooooo funny about Ali telling Isabella she looks different!  I am definitely going to have to listen for that on my next King playthrough!  And I haven't heard Bethany mention Sten!  When does that happen, do you know?

@Malocus - I love how they used the same Dalish clan from the origin into DA2.  The Dalish origin was my favorite (I know, I know, I'm in the minority here) and I was disappointed that the clan they met up with in Origins wasn't her own.  On the same note, in my first DA2 playthrough, when I walked into Merrill's house in Act 2 and saw the mirror, I totally freaked.  I knew EXACTLY what it was long before she talked about it.  That was just creepy!

@Obstuse -  Oh yes!  All the BG references in both Origins and DA2 are wonderful!

@Innocent - Yup!  Someone mentioned that earlier (think there's a pic on page 1) but it's cool that it's there, along with lots of other Origins "junk".  That was a really neat idea they came up with.

Bethany has some references to Sten and Leliana. Brought her to the Qunari compound she said that she hated Qunari because one killed her friend in Lothering. Brought her to the Chantry and she said that Sister Leliana told great stories. Aveline mentions a "red-headed tricker" in Lothering if you talk to her in the Chantry.
