Not sure if this has been mentioned, but it has been bugging me for a while...

The NPC in the Hanged Man at night who gives you money every time you kill one of those nighttime street gangs. If you kill all the gangs then at the last interaction in Act III she says something about thanks from Friends of Red Jenny.

I always was curious about the Friends of Red Jenny, and now it seems they are active in Kirkwall as well and interested in seeing thugs off the street so they can operate in peace. Who are these people!?!?

Close acquaintances of Jennifer, who's optical coloration is in the 630-740 nanometer wavelength. Duh.

I remembered them from Origins, and I loved the gloves for my rogue.  But, I was surprised in Act III when that NPC finishes the unofficial quest by saying thanks from Friends of Red Jenny.  Now I just want to know who these people are as they have popped up in 2 games and are super mysterious with definitely awesome taste in equipment:)

Always made me think of the song "867-5309(Jenny)". I loved that song so much.  :)

One of the junk items I have gotten several times is torn pants. I've always thought of them as another reference to the pantaloons of BG and BG2.  BTW, also love this thread.

@LadyBri - I had no idea! I always forget to go back to her in Act 3! As for who the Friends of Red Jenny are... I have no idea, other than we see them in Origins, too. Maybe they'll be explained someday. *crosses fingers*

@tgail - ROFL! They didn't do that before, but you bet they will now. Thanks. ;)

@Jannemarie - Wouldn't put it past them. They even have pantaloons as junk as well.  And I'm glad you're enjoying this thread... it's been a blast reading all this stuff.  :)

The High Dragon drops an item called "Ring of the Emerald Knights."

Apparently, a Green Lantern was eaten on Thedas :D

Not sure if someone got this one up here yet or not. But one of my (and others) major complaints about DA:O was how brown and dingy the graphics were.

In a conversation Hawke was aasked if he would go back to Ferelden and he said something to the effect of: "Why? Everything was so brown."

The leader of the Undercut Thrifters is named Kanky "Hammertoe" (or something).  As I recall, Kanky was the name of one of the dwarves in Jarvia's Carta, the one who organized a shared stash with two other dwarves.

Now that I think of it, "Undercut Thrifters" might be a reference to the Crosscut Drifters that are mentioned in the Origins codex.

@Jedi - LOL! Green Lantern indeed!

@dweber - I missed that one! The brown reference is hilarious!

@Elijee - Never noticed hte "Kanky" thing... am replaying Origins now so I'll look for that when I get to Orzammar. As for Undercut Thrifters, yes, it reminds me of Crosscut Drifters as well. :)

The talkative man says "The truth is out there", which is a reference to "The X Files".

If you click on Evelina in Dark town in act 2 she'll beg for money, if you won't giver her any Hawke will say "Away with you beggar!" like the nobles in Baldur's Gate does.

@Zombie - That's too funny! I always gave her a silver so I never knew. :) In fact, I've paid her several times hoping for something different to happen, but alas, nothing ever did.

Give money to blood mages. Something exciting happens. Profit!

Found this picture in Bartrand's house. Looks suspiciously like Howe to me.

Isabela's banter with Aveline about Donnnic's competence is one long DA:O reference. "Shank your Jory," etc.

Male Hawke will say 'That's... a lot of blood' at the end of fights, just like Alistair.

Tigress, That pic always reminds me of Prince Charles. ;)

In Act 2 when you first get to Bartrand's house and Varric embelishes what happens, he takes on the guards and tells Bianca to introduce herself. This always reminds me of Al Pacino in Scarface when he yells "Say hello to my little friend" during his last showdown in the movie.

Also in Act 2, when you find Gascard, and during questioning him if he is the real killer, Varric state he will bet anyone 20 silvers if Gascard says the one armed man did it. This is exactly what Harrison Ford said in the Fugitive, and also the old Fugitive series, Dr. Kimble was always looking for the one armed man that killed his wife.

My new favourite is Varric reading aloud Isabela's Aveline/Donnic fanfic. Heaving bosoms and all.
