i have heard that you cant romance aveline but what if your maxed friends and you didnt kill her hubby can you be romantic with her other then just flirt?

As mentioned above, not possible to romance her. Your flirts fly right over her head.

So yeah, flirting's as far as you can get, although iirc she'll give you a peck on the cheek at the end of her Act II quest.

I was angry when I ended up hooking her up with Donnic. Even though her chin could cut glass, she is a strong, intelligent woman who can kick some ass. I find that attractive

Although if your friensdhip is high enough she does plant a kiss on Hawke after a certain quest - I was most surprised when that happened, expected Isabela to comment but not a thing hehe.
