simple question

if Isabella is your friend

is the -haste% avoidable or not...?

She just became my friend and well.. now im worried if i am doomed or not :( I do not switch her in and out she's pretty much in my party all the time

am i doomed to a snails fate as well?

anyone?

sigh gonna do some more reading on this as i do not see concrete evidence on what causes this

ALSO if anyone knows or can tell me how do i know if i am affected by this bug?  :(

You'll know when Isabela is NOT in your party and you look under Character>Abilities. Scroll to the left to the set of abilities called "Hawke" if you see Isabela's "Thumbs Up" ability, that means you are bugged. To avoid it, make sure you do not load a saved game with Isabela in your party when she is at 50+ friendship with you. There are apparently safe areas in which to do it, for instance, I use the Docks at day time to quickly switch party members and loaded with Isabela in the party. I then removed her, saved and then loaded and did not keep the "Thumbs Up." ability.

I had to reload a save from Act I when I discovered this bug and I've been doing well avoiding it so far. You can still use both friendly Isabela and Sebastian in your party, you just must never load a game with them in your party to be the safest from it.

thank you so much :) that is actually a definitive answer (the first) i have seen on how to find out if you have the bug or not

what worries me so much here is.. Isabella is a permanent fixture in my groups and from what i read that doesn't stop the bug from happening or affecting you..

I guess im off to use the "safe areas" to save and whatnot.. mainly Merill's house lol

The latest word here (from players, haven't seen anything from Bioware) is that if you -always- use the "Gather by Party" stands in the various towns to change your party that you will not experience this bug.

If, however, you let the game "force" her (or Sebastian) out of your party (e.g., when she auto-leaves when you enter the Quanari compound), then you will be bugged.

I have not personally verified this so YMMV.

hmm I am part the Qunari compound one.. she did leave forcibly but I wasn't friendly with her yet :) as for the "Gather by Party" I'm guessing these players are going out of their way to take her out of the party before playing

that is far too much headache for me, from what i read.. the "safehouses" may be the best bet..

simply put, save your games in Merill's house, Fenris' place, some say the docks during daytime.. I personally use Merill or Fenris.. I jus tested it too at Fenris' place I removed Isabella from my group and the buff was gone so I'm hoping I don't have the bug yet

:) so yeah.. it's all a bit pain in the ass but what the hell i find it easier just to make a habit of saving at merill's or fenril's and i hopefully.. should be fine

But once you noticeably have it, will any of this help?
This is prevention rather than cure but thank you all the same.

This is all very helpful. My concern is what will happens with the Isabela/Sebastian bug either of them is part of the group and everybody dies while on a mission. I fear that if I reload the latest autosaved game I'll get the bug.... Would that happen?

So it seems the sure sound way to not get the bug for now is too not befriend either Isabella or Sebastian and if you are friends with them then try the work-arounds. Rob mentioned that the patch should be out next week so hopefully we wont have to worry bout this anymore.
