And I absolutely LOVED Charade. It was really awesome to find a cousin and reunite Gamlen with his daughter after all the family tragedy in the rest of the game.

Gamlen needs someone to use the wallop mallet on him.
He probably brings it with him to the blooming rose

Oh my god... "wallop mallet" could easily be the worst euphemism of all time. "Uncle Gamlen loves to use his wallop mallet at the Blooming Rose." GAH!

LOL! He's there for medicinal purposes donchaknow?
It was terribly creepy when he was asking for details about my female Hawke's relationship with Isabela. So, so, so creepy.

I think what did it (for me) was that scene where he was asking Leandra to pay rent, she went off the deep end about it, and then he just... kind of meekly asked her to put something towards food.
That entire conversation just made me feel a bit ill. I did feel bad that he was pretty much funding everything, and I do kind of agree that Leandra seemed 'Ferelden for life' and wasn't likely to ever return (until the Blight happened.)
Granted, he could have written her to let her know she'd inherited a fortune, but he did look after their parents when they were at their worst. I'm not saying he was 'entitled' to the fortune for taking care of them, but having seen my dad go through a similar situation with my grandparents, I have the utmost sympathy for the guy. >>
That being said, I also loved the Charade quest. >: God, is it too much to hope that she shows up in DA3? I just think she was a rad character. xD
EDIT: Also, I think it's pretty clear that despite their differences, Leandra and Gamlen cared about each other. Their weekly visits, and Gamlen's hyseria when Leandra dies, pretty much confirm that. >: *sigh*

Sure he might have taken the fortune for himself, but I'll also say that he let them stay in his house without any warning at all for a long time. Without even making them pay for anything.

Yeah, I agree. Every time we see Gamlen and leandra talk in Act 1 she's constantly harping about "servitude!!". Get over it, mom; I did! If you want you can go sleep outside the city gates again! Asking for a contribution toward food didn't seem that unreasonable a request, whatever Gamlen's shortcomings may be.

Also I didn't realise that his appearance also changes with respect to your Hawke's appearance. Pretty cool.
Would've been nice to get to know my cousin a bit more as well, perhaps she'll turn up in the future?
