I loved Dragon Age Origins, I liked Awakening and Dragon Age 2 felt like let down.

What is really annoying to me is that Biowares other game Star Wars the Old Republic was announced in 2008 since that time we have seen all the Dragon Age games released and it makes it feel like EA or BW considered the Dragon Age series almost a poor releation which get rushed out to make some money from the fans.

The magic of Origins just seems gone, even Witch Hunt was a disappointment for many with no questions answered so I hope Bioware can do something to pull it back to the great game that was DA:O.

And do you want to know why Witch Hunt was a let down? It was rushed and a preview of DA2.  They didn't care to finish it in style, because they was just to horny to make Dragon Age 2.

They promised alot more DLC:s for DA:O than they actually released. It's just sad, they can't keep what they promised, and after breaking their promises they release a bad "sequel" in DA2. A pity..

The 18 months hurt it in terms of content quite a bit. As much as I enjoyed DA2, there were a lot of missing moments to me, that seemed like they wanted to keep progressing. Also, there is a lot of "Hawk only" gear in DA2 that makes you wonder how much of a design choice reducing the companion gear as much as they did(no gloves boots or helms even), I mean it is hard to understand why they would have "Hawk only" on a few of those boots/chest/helm/gloves that showed up.

I just hope they take out the conversation wheel in DA3.

This is unlikely as it is the one feature that most reviewers liked as was the new look for the series.

I definitely feel sorry for the majority of workers there. Thankless slaves toiling away while Lord Laidlaw sits on his throne of sorrow and broken dreams, drinking virgin blood from a golden goblet while savoring the shrieks and wailing of QA testers trudging through the same cave dungeon again and again.

I think it's a sad day for BioWare. Dragon Age 2 has a lot of wasted potential courtesy of their cutting corners. There's a great game there wanting to get out.

Mother ****g THIS!!! Seriously, if they had taken the time to FINISH Act 3 instead of cheating out at the end like I feel like they did, this could have been my favorite bioware game to date. I'm sorry, but they get exactly what they deserve in terms of flaming. The development team at this should take a very good long hard  look at themselves and figure out wtf happened before they do another DA game. What's worse, some want to blame EA for this. I don't think it was EA, I think this was all Bioware. Nextime maybe they should think twice before not finishing a story or copy pasting every map with no effort to even HIDE that there are only a handfull of maps in the entire game.

they're still putting out reviews for the game? could have sworn the score was at 84% a while ago.

this is a strong indication that they were rushed... so I'm going to blame EA for that, at least.

A few days ago yeah. Back then there were only about 26 professional reviews, though. Now the number has about doubled.

When they decided to release a game with a rushed schedule and a disproportionately high marketing budget compared to its development budget, it wasn't in the interest of quality output or making sure that consumers got their money's worth.

The fact that its come back to bite them in the ass is a good thing. Feeling sorry for them is like having sympathy for the bully trying to steal your lunch money.

Honestly, I don't see what all of the fuss is about. Yes I am extremely disapointed in the direction the franchise is heading, but DA2 Is still a very good game and I find it quite enjoyable.

Agreed. There's a lot of good work and effort in it, but wasted because the decision to rush it out.

I don't feel particularly bad for BioWare. Some of the greatest games of all time have a mediocre score on Metacritic. For example, take Treyarch's masterpiece Quantum of Solace.

Some gamers that are stuck in the RPG dark ages didn't like it. Boo-hoo. BioWare is heralding a roleplaying renaissance, and Dragon Age II is a game they can be proud of.

I don't think a low reviewer score will change the series' direction at all. Bioware knows it had to rush DA2 out the door, and they'll likely ascribe any negative review to the cut corners rather than their new design paradigm.

Still, I feel bad for them too, even though I really didn't enjoy DA2. They clearly put a lot of effort and thought into the game. I wish they had prioritized a little better, by e.g. not spending so much time revamping the engine and spending more time developing content, but it's just a hindsight criticism. If I had to guess, I'd say their engine revamps took longer than expected.

I don't see why anyone should feel sorry for Bioware. If a meteorite fell on their headquarters I would feel sorry for them but they made this mess of a game all on their own.

It's a wake-up call. Hopefully they'll listen to the feedback from the fans and make DA3 better.

You mean the feedback that runs the entire spectrum from good to bad? Or just the feedback you happen to agree with?

So if that comes of snarky but I walways wonder who these "fans" are that have the perfect feedback that will undoubtly improve the next installment.

Well, when you consider the decisions they took and the changes they applied to DA, you gotta wonder whose feedback they listened on DA0.

It's a great game with great potential but it was so... rushed... that it lost a lot of that potential. I still enjoy the game, but it is a letdown compared to other Bioware games.

Don't know why everyone is saying that this was rushed. The development period was comparable to ME2's, and ME2 didn't have a fraction of the repetitiveness or lack of depth.

The simple reason that this game sucks is because BioWare/EA judged that they could cut corners all over the place and still have a big audience who'd pay full price for their games. They misjudged how many corners they could cut before you people would care. They attempted to shill you then fell flat on their face doing it. Don't feel sorry for them.
