"I happened to enjoy the Irregular quests...sorry if you didn't. "

I didn't mind them at all. I took them the same way i took the DA2 ones. Just another quick way to get xp/gold. Not enough to worry about since they're all ignorable/avoidable anyways.

Exactly. The Irregular quests or the Mage's collective stuff was every bit as shallow as the fetch quests from DA2. They are there only to add gold and XP, nothing more.

And I just LOVE how the assumption that you have to be a drooling idiot to enjoy DA2 keeps being thrown around. It warms the heart... not. <_<

Yes, because the fetch quests were the only side quests in the game...

I am entitled to you my opinion as you are to yours.

Those quests where you retrieve someone's toe and give it back to someone for some XP are inane and ridiculous.

You act like as if I hate the game and I don't but then again I probably am a hater since I can only rate the game a 7/8. <_<

I don't think people are idiots but the game is NOT perfect. No game is.

What they need to do is incorporate the **best** of what DA:2 had and bring back some of the elements of Origins.

The DAO fetch quests at least made an effort to have some illusion of signifigance. They simply dialed it in with DA2 and it shows.

I definitely feel sorry for the majority of workers there. Thankless slaves toiling away while Lord Laidlaw sits on his throne of sorrow and broken dreams, drinking virgin blood from a golden goblet while savoring the shrieks and wailing of QA testers trudging through the same cave dungeon again and again.

I really don't think they care that you feel "sorry" for them.

I'm not going to tell others what to think, but if they want to hate it, thats there perogative. I certainly feel a bit cheated by Bioware as far was what I was led to believe about this game.

The bottom line for me is this: I would've bought this game anyways, as its a Bioware product, but I felt like I was getting something else and I was disappointed, and I will take that into consideration when DA3 is announced. I know it doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but upset enough customers and it becomes a much bigger piece of the pie.

Its a slippery slope, when you take steps to fundamentally change an experience and you need to take shortcuts to do it, then the risks of falling short become greater, even the greatest companies in the world aren't immune from this.

Bioware is still a great company, but with everything thats happened since the release of this game, they aren't coming out smelling like roses on all fronts.

It's just a product, so it won't feel it when we love or hate it ~ as for BioWare and EA? Well neither deserve our hate, or our love - but we can give either anyway, and you can't really just ask for love and passion, without getting the backside of it.

I feel sorry for them because it  is a fun game in my opinion just that the some issues are obvious with the game like the ending, the people dropping into the fight from the sky and the recycling of maps to such a crazy extent.

apart from that its brilliant

Why would you feel sorry for BioWare when they're laughing all the way to the bank?

Granted, I have lost a bit of respect for them ever since they were purchased by EA, but still, why feel sorry?

Are you sure that none of them had significance? 'Cause DA3 is just a pipe dream right now, but a lot of the fetch quests seemed like they might change stuff in the long run. Improve relations between races, create a moron abomination, etc...

Not sure that I feel sorry for them, per se, but it does kinda suck that the game was so rushed. I think a large part of it was them retooling the graphic style, engine, etc. It just seemed like they were trying to fix something that a lot of people complained about in DA:O and got bogged down, then cut a lot of corners.Posted Image

DA2 has a half entertaining story, a few memorable characters, bad everything else and the worst combat ever seen in an RPG. :P

I don't really feel sorry for them...they had a tried & true strategy, yet veered away from it because they had dollar signs in their eyes.

I don't feel particularly bad for BioWare. Some of the greatest games of all time have a mediocre score on Metacritic. For example, take Treyarch's masterpiece Quantum of Solace.

Who claims its perfect?

"but I felt like I was getting something else and I was disappointed,"

BIO was quite honest about what kind of game DA2 would be and its diffrences (and simialrities) with DA1.

"The DAO fetch quests at least made an effort to have some illusion of signifigance. "

This is hilarious spin.

I don't feel sorry for them. They knew what they were doing. Just teaches us players to put companies like Bioware and Blizzard off their pedestals. Apparently its possible to screw up a winning concept.

BioWare should feel embarrassed. I mean, they're being outdone by a relatively unknown Polish developer with not even half the backing EA provides. They need to step up their game or risk fading into oblivion. Simple as that.

No, they aren't.

DA2 is better than TW and probably better than TW2.

BIO helped CDP get going in NA.

CDP is not unknown. Not by a long shot. They're also struggling money wise.

Theyn may not have EA's help but they do got Atari backing them and BIO gave them a helping hand with getting their name out including pimping TW1 on this very site.

CDP is a one note pony - all they do is rip off some Polish author's work - and they do a crappy job of it at that.
