Sorry? More like satisfied. I just wish that BiowEAr dismissed this "game" and made true DA 2. Or better yet, put DA to rest. Series is ruined.
imo.

I don't. Bioware needs to hear this so that they don't make these mistakes again, and so they get the message that they can't rip off the consumers like this.

This game is so riddled with bugs (even quests that can't be completed!), and yet they chose to release it. Who on earth feels sorry for BioWare for making loads of money on an unfinished + untested game that tarnished the quality stamp of the first game by exacerbating everything about the game apart from the combats?

EA is really big into metrics/biometrics with gaming, so they cut back rather heavily on Quality Assurance. The assumption is that the vast majority of QA will end up coming from analysing players gameplay styles and performance and general feedback.

Honestly, I would put money down on at least a few DLCs for DA:2 coming as a result of metrics. Why do you think the game wants you to sign into the network for a single player game? They're recording what you do, how often you do it, and making assumptions on why you do it and how much you would pay to do it more in the game.

Seems like a good score. Not the best but hardly the worst.

Well no crap! But we're talking about Bioware here?! I wouldn't mind if it was a lowly publishers first effort, but Bioware has standards, which is why I think DA2 is one of the biggest disappointments of all time.

That was Mass Effect 2 for me.Dragon Age II is still worth to be called an rpg regarding the character building options alone while Mass Effect is a dumbed down boring shooter that not even excels as a so called "character driven game".

Feel sorry for them? they took my money and gave me a substandard product in return, it's hard to feel much sympathy. Maybe some good will come of this, in future they may start to treat their customers with a little more respect.

You gave them your money. They gave you their product, which you did not like in the end. You had time to return it for a decent buyback. Or you could have given it away to someone who wanted and or liked the game. You not liking their product is not what disrespect means.

They changed a very popular franchise to the point that it's not even close to the same feel, style, or play, for reasons I can't even begin to fathom. I feel sorry for individuals who are taking personal attacks, for which there's no excuse, but not sorry for the company. As a corporate entity, they brought this on themselves. They led us to expect pie and gave us a twinkie.

Actually, Amazon offered a full refund within a certain amount of time because of all the glitches and bugs. I'd say that's a pretty big disrespect aimed directly at Bioware.

No, they aren't.

DA2 is better than TW and probably better than TW2.

BIO helped CDP get going in NA.

CDP is not unknown. Not by a long shot. They're also struggling money wise.

Theyn may not have EA's help but they do got Atari backing them and BIO gave them a helping hand with getting their name out including pimping TW1 on this very site.

CDP is a one note pony - all they do is rip off some Polish author's work - and they do a crappy job of it at that.

dude u been here for hours u need to give up

CORRECTION: I've been here for YEARS.

And, I won't give up until BIO constantly puts oout overrated KOTOR and crappy games like S:RPG out. As long as they make awesome games like NWN, DA2, and ME; I will never give them up.

Why don't you give up your harassment of me in multiple threads?

Even then its not fair. It isn't like Bioware were purposely half assing a game. They put their hard work into it and hoped for the best. No one can predict if a game will be a hit or flop. They tried and are getting backlash for it. Everyone expected way too much from them.

Bioware isn't out to make half assed games to trick you. The tin foil hats can come off now.

See, this simply isn't true. Oustide of few things, BIO was upfront pre release about the changes from DA1. there was no 'trickery' here.

Interested consumer: Why is the file size so small?
Bioware: Better compression techniques!

Nope, no trickery involved <_<

While its largely subjective, i'm of the position that it was disingenuous of bioware to blow off the concern over the combat seen in leaked videos (and later the demo) as the "exaggerated part." I remember myself and several others were crusading for a little more indepth explanation of what exactly this exaggerated portion was exaggerating. None was forthcoming, and i guess i see why.

edit: emphasis

That's right.

However I can understand where the disappointment is coming from. Subjective things like story elements and companions aside, there are some glaring oversights that another 6 months of dev time would have taken care of. Nr. 1 being re-used enviroments in a game focusing on one place. It would not have been as annoying had there been more unique places to explore. (I.E. more districts, a village or two, more outside locations) Hell, even setting each Act in different seasons (Arthur's Knights II reused all its predecessors maps but different seasons sure gave them a varied look) Bioware knows its fans love to equip their party members fully. Look at the zillions of armor/clothes Mods on Nexus. While I'm all for unique looks, if a modder can implement that function within a week of release, I don't see why Bioware cannot.

The isometric camera has been a fan favorite for years, why remove it entirely? I'm not into DAII for the combat but I can understand why those who love tactical combat might gruimble at its removal.

As with post-Landsmeet DAO, the final portion of the game WAS rushed. It is obvious. Then the error leading to the console ports being shipped without the Auto Attack function.

Once all of these things add up (There are more, but these are the ones I can personally relate to), people will be frustrated because none of these things were necessary and could have been fixed with just a little more time and effort.

Now I could write a similar list on DAO but: DAII finds itself in the rather polarizing position of being a sequel to a game many people loved. For all its flaws and bugs and what not, the devs took their time with it and it shows. People appreciate that.

Now I love DAII. In many ways I prefer it to DAO. But I can understand why the issues above may lead to disappointment and frustration. I do not share these feelings entirely, but they are as legit and valid as loving DAII is.

That is very true. Bioware set a bar for themselves in the past that repeat customers have come to expect.

BioWare have set several bars. Some of them, DAII failed to meet. Others, DAII far exceeded.

Dragon Age 2 was enjoyable for me, regardless of the little cons that annoyed me. I'm not sure why it deserves so much hate from it's fans and why trolls bother trying to stir stuff. We play video games people, we're not engaging in life-changing events.

I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Same here. My hope is that Bioware will take the best out of DAO and DAII, take their time and deliver an EPIC DAIII. If anyone can do it, they can!

Far more bars were failed to meet. The only really good thing in this game are the companions.

Yup a combo of the two games, parred with some little adjustments and more effort with character interaction ect ect ect and DA 3 would be cosmically awesome :wizard:

Exactly. Most importantly, they should take their time IMO. I'm perfectly willing to wait for 2-3 years. Let's hope EA feels the same!:P

Considering the massive nosedive in sales, they'd be pretty darn stupid not to. But you never know with EAPosted Image

I truly hope they do better. Don't get me wrong, I've been quite critical about the game. But I wouldn't stick around if I didn't care.

You know, sometimes I wished I moved to Edmonton and sell my soul to Bioware. I'm proud that a Canadian company has so many great games under their wing. But they can't sit on their laurels.

Shouldnt really feel sorry for them, They pretty much did what pretty much every game company has done over the past few years, made a really sucessful game, then cut corners on the sequel to produce an utter let down. Im hoping they pull their hands out of their arses for Dragon Age 3 or Mass Effect 3 and actully make a decent game again.

This also makes me worry about SWTOR
