Also you can't say Grey Wardens die after 30 years as you can meet one that's like 200 years old. Plus if there's a magic ritual to prevent you from dying as you kill the demon, there could easily be one to clean the taint.

Good points

I agree- I don't want to be Old God Baby in the sequel or expansion or DLC- I love Baldur's Gate but that would be too similar.I like my human noble warden just fine, thank you.

As far as DA2 goes, I think the universe that Bioware has created is huge enough that they could go with a totally new PC in a totally new part of Thedas (possibly way after the events of the first game even) but I think even if they were to do that, you'll still end up running into Morrigan + Old God Baby, one way or the other.

And if thats the case then I would rather like my PC from DAO to run into her given their pre-existing relationship and more potential for character development rather than a new PC who has no past with her ( kind of like KOTOR2 when you run into Bastila and Carth at the end and they are like, "Oh who are you?" and I'm like "Hey! Don't you remember me? Oh yeah, Revan is in deep space..." )

As much as I hate to say it, as soon as I heard about the God baby. It felt as though I realized the whole purpose of the story. I could be wrong...but it does feel like it was all a huge set up for this.

Now either we deal with non-adult god child, which I don't think would be very interesting. Or are characters are 20 or so years older (not that cool either). Or we are dead.

My guess is we play someone new or else we play as the God kid. I hope we play as someone new and we aren't tied down to a similar fate as the MC in this game.

The thing with a universe like the one created in Dragon Age is that the writers have "magic" as a means to twist the plot around too- Its not like we're dealing with some hyper-realistic world with rigid rules. Thats not a bad thing necessarily, but I feel like there is so much more about the world of Dragon Age that we don't knwo about that the writers can still get away with a lot of plot twisting with the PC and/or Morrigan and Old God Baby.

If we keep the same PC in DA2, that could work even for the people who had their Grey Warden sacrifice him/herself- just have him/her go through the Fade or something magical and such- sure it might seem cheap, but  I have faith that the writers at Bioware could make it seem logical/ plausible within the confines of the Dragon Age universe.

This is basically what I keep telling myself as I go through different playthroughs. Since Im roleplaying some of my guys are just too damn honorable :)

But I could just see a Bioware writer with  look saying "No Resurrection for you!".

I have to say though, if Alistair dies in your stead. Bringing back Zombie Alistair would be kind of amusing.

I could only imagine his dialog :D

i wonder how dragon age 2 would be like. Morrigan just broke my heart lol, so I just sacrificed myself. If Leliana is hotter than I would change my mind and let Allistaer have the dying glory lol.

I basically considered this to be a continuation of the cycle.

It could just be that I crossed over a threshold with regards to how much Morrigan liked my PC when I killed Flemeth, but afterwards her dialogue was slightly different. Not just more friendly, but how she was speaking was subtly different. Additionally, the robes you get are the 'robes of possession', so I am thinking that Flemeth takes over Morrigan either through the robes or upon her death. Not to mention the fact that Morrigan thinks that Flemeth will be back in some form or other - perhaps a subtle hint that she knows she is...

Another thing that makes me think this is how surprised and somewhat annoyed Morrigan is that Flemeth makes her go with the party, yet right at the end has some remarkable insight as to why she wanted her to go - a set of variables in place that is a remarkable coincidence unless she had prior knowledge - i.e. Morrigan is Flemeth.

I think the idea of 'softening' Morrigan as a male PC with romancing her probably helps, but obviously, they don't want to give too much away with regards to possible extensions to the franchise. I'm just happy that her being upset about the whole having-to-leave thing is reflected in the voice acting if the romance does happen (can't say first hand since I haven't romanced Morrigan as yet).

Its an interesting conundrum, no doubt. But I think letting Morrigan 'have her way' will make for much more interesting gameplay later on. ;)

you know guys that bioware is continuing the dlc for the game for another year after release i think i read this on gamespot so it is possible that they will make an expansion for the game that you can download thats a continuation of the story like 5 or so years later where morrigan resurfaces

well i see DLC as something which is included in the orignal story as it was with shale and wardens keep, expansions are another thing altogether, be they downloaded or otherwise

I thought the fact that she was a selfish **** was pretty explanatory.  At least that was the impression I got.

I decided not to trust Morrigan with my ruthless city elf female. Oh, I pretended to be sisters with the shemlen, and let her have her little ceremony. But I also left Flemeth alive, "watching what Morrigan is up to".

We'll see where that goes – I believe it will be bad. Worse than swooping. First: Morrigan will be mad because of the betrayal; Second: Flemeth should be way more evil and powerful than Morrigan and she would raise the child.

But yes. I thin that it isn't such a bad proposition while playing as a male char. Making Alistair do it is what feels wrong. Funny.

It'll be interesting to see if the child pops up later – I for one don't believe it will be purely evil. What's to say It'll be even completely an "old god", or only have its knowledge as Morrigan says.

well you could look at it this way morrigan wanted to save you bc she loved you and the reason she had to leave was to protect you and the baby bc since the baby has the sould of an old god there would be people that would wanna control it but i guess im just a romantic at heart but she could use the baby for evil too im not denying that either
