Start adding points into Force for a specialization. It's the awesomesauce. You will have complete control over the battlefield, and never get knocked back.

ya, thats gonna be my second spec, I loved the +100 fortitude upgrade, but the other abilities would only be useful for crowd control. I tried them verse more powerfull enemies and they couldnt do anythnig worthwhile... so im thinking Firestorm and lightning storm would be as good at killing hordes. Also there rnt any staff or robe upgrades for force mage but there r great damage boosters for frost and fire...

If u want loads of damage spells grab upgraded Horror and Walking bomb. Horror is fantastic too because not only does it do lots of damage, it stuns the target too. Great for one on ones, taking certain pesky buggers of the table for bit, and bosses.

Hm yeah, if you play on normal force mage is pretty dull considering how easy the mobs die anyway from the aoe spam. Get the +100 forti upgrade tho, its lovely!.

Horror, crushing prison, walking bomb all really fun stuff to play around with!. Tho i use merril for all that. xD

I've been working Merril with entroy tree and I'm really starting to like it.  Like mentioned above horror is really good.  Also that spell that give 100% crits is nice.  Great supporting spell for your warriors and rogues.

I think every mage should get the cold line as well.

Everything can be effect if you setup right.  I get killer aoe dmg off firestorm.  That spells rocks at high levels, mass carnage.

Elemental requires you take the entire tree to be really effective and fireball sucks hard. Fully upgraded cone of cold, winter's grasp and firestorm are pretty awesome (though the later is probably a lot less awesome with friendly fire...)

Force mage is really nice, I regret not investing into it sooner than I did (~lvl14).

Yea no argument there, fireball really sucks compared to Origins.  Still 1 weak spell out of that entire tree isn't bad.

FF really isn't that bad with firestorm.  Recently I've been using it a lot.  As soon as I see bad guys get triggered, I just hit the "hold" command and drop in firestorm right in front of us.

What works really good is repulsion dropped maybe 10 feet away from your party.  Then the enmeies just bounce around in the firestorm. :wizard:  Or if you set it outside the storm in front of you, they bounce back into the firestorm.  It is just an awesome combo when you deal with those street mobs at night.  200+ every strike and they get knocked around like crazy.

Then I'll toss in Tempest for secondary waves.  Of course the entire time my 3 mages and sniping andone who manages to get too close.  Those fights become extremely easy.

Primal + Force + Blood are my large investments, with some Entropy + Spirit sides.

If you're playing anything lower than nightmare, I can't recommend virulent walking bomb strongly enough. You can easily set things up so that everything dies in a sweet chain reaction, especially if you bring Merrill for her Ensnare or spec up to Pull of the Abyss as a force mage.

At the very least grab winter's grasp at some point. It's an excellent standalone spell and you don't need to invest extra points to get it.

I think I will take the entire tree except a couple upgrades for fire spells. The tree is extremely useful. I think im going to spend some points to get horror and its upgrade and then put some in force so I can get the +100 fortitude.
