I'm more curious about what drunk Alistair is doing in a tavern in Kirkwall to begin with.

Well he's exiled from Ferelden so he cant be there. And the booze is probably cheaper in Kirkwall than in Orlais. Not to mention there are those in other nations like Antiva and Orlais that could try to use Alistair for their own goals. his ending did say a rebellion began using his name but no evidence could be found of his involvment.

This... I'm sure Bioware thought the cameo would be amusing, but it doesn't make a lot of sense.  Alistair took a two-week cruise just to grab a beer?  And why is Teagan even looking after him?  I thought DA:O ended with him being a lone drifter, but if the Arl and his family are still looking out for him, they can't give him a job and keep him sober?

Maybe somebody who saw the cameo can make sense of this...  It sounds farfetched from the info I've read.  Did Anora exile him to Kirkwall or something?

He was exiled, not specifically to Kirkwall, but exiled, on pain of death.  Kirkwall isn't that far from Ferelden, and it's not Orlais.

As for why Teagan came to bring him back - as I said in this or another thread, dunno, but if he shows up in Denerim in my game, King Cousland's gonna give his Queen a severed head as a gift.

I have a semi-related question, If Anora is queen and Alistair is a drunk why don't we see her pop up like King Alistair does?

Eamon is probably running the country if Alistair is King (allowing him to make the trips). Anora is running the country if she is Queen (and can't make the trips)
