bro, im not going to discuss the point with anyone. I have stated exactly how I believe this project is to be presented. Archer's Lance is not ff(NM) or tactics compatible without serious micro-management and so it goes by the way side. You have yet to even finish a full play-through on NM and you love to micro manage the hell out of the game. Aside from being the opposite function of this project, it shows you have no real time view on the implications of using Archer's Lance over a full game where any misstep is a reload and time is something one may not choose to waste every cooldown.

If it bothers you so much that I am ignoring the "wants" of people that may play on the less difficult versions of the game, go write your own guide. This one will serve the needs of the many, which out weigh the wants of the few, or the one. /discussion

Umm, if "Hold - Petrify - Choose Varric and use Lance" considered "serious micro-management" nowadays perhaps they should really make DA3 an action game without any option to manually give orders in your party O_o

being forced to do it manually throughout the whole game is exactly my point. take it if you want it, i will not be including it here, ever.

I'm just noting the limitation of the project. You should, too, and you ought to be thanking me for bringing the limitation forward. Clarifying the limitations of a statement or proposal is an important part of defining what it is and what it's not.

If someone plays on Hard or Normal or Casual and asks you or references this thread for advice, the correct answer should be "I don't know," because you don't. This admission would ideally be given without disparaging the player's setting preferences or the player himself for whatever reason.

no , the answer would be, "faceroll it with whatever and how ever you like, it isnt nightmare"

Calling me ignorant will certainly do wonders to convice me to pander to people who dont play with friendly fire.

with all due respect, **** off

Oh please. If a person can play Nighmare they sure as **** can offer advice about the other difficulty levels. You certainly are no shortage on telling people how it is on NM yet you just make forays into NM rather than playing the entire game in the mode. Rather than trying to decide what others can or can't do just try worrying about yourself for a while. Thanks.

Anyways, the Compendium is a great reference and I hope SuicidalBAby keeps expanding it.

What stats would you recommend on a 16 lvl reskill? Since I can redistribute skills Implanning on droppign some spells, which ones do you think are not worth it?

Thanks a lot for the help :)

if you are asking about the current build, which is going to be updated soon for a more aggressive build.
@16 you are preparing for the Arishok, which that build was designed for without respec. if you want to I would fit enough will for your current gear, guessing 24-25. 32-35 mag and rest con. Make sure you are at a comfortable health level for you. prep arcane weapons and shop for a good cold or nature stick under 10g. (nature prefered as Qunari are weak to it.) 2 if you are using 2 mages of course.

petrify, stonefist:range short, horror, hex of torment, pull of abyss, gravitic ring, glyph of paralyze, haste, paralyzing hemo, heal, barrier are the only spells i used during a very short group fight. general sustains assumed

varric: fog & confuse, even a few stuns.

Aveline tore up disorienteds w/ scatter/cleave

Are there enough Blood Magic items to equip both Merrill and Hawke adequately?

def,
merrill: Her health allows for even less use of items for conversion.  2x rings = done, you could throw her the Saraabas tailisman since Hawke has availibility to armor.

new subject: When is, "OMG look at that health!" too much health? Thus wasting points that could be used for even incremental damage increase. Cause I just refought Meradith and took quite a few direct hits without fear of dying with a subpar bm respec from a regular champ armor sh/fm from my original play through..

Perhaps not surpass Aveline in HP?

That's how I played him on my second playthrough, but it just wasn't worth it to me, and it pretty much requires Aveline to have Bodyguard upgraded and on him at all times, which is yet another huge stamina drain and takes away from her own ability to deal damage.  The biggest benefit from his entire special tree is Swift Justice as well as Martyr.

Probably beyond 350 is just overkill, but that also assumes you're wearing a belt, neck and ring that are adding health.  I usually end with 395 - 410, and have never come close to being in danger at any point.  I stop at 4:1 conversion now though after picking up The Final Thought.  Also might be able to get more damage out of equipment than your MAG stat too.

Well, with four hundred you can survive half a dozen Shadows attacking you and don't feel Meredith's attacks at all, but I guess you better don't be attacked like that anyway.. now to think about it, four hundred is a bit of too much, I think battle mage with a full set of blood improving items could walk around with 300, items included.

I'm wearing +90 health in items though, so I suppose I could easily just dump the neck for the Saarebas neck and give it to Aveline, who is wearing Urzara's (yet has never needed more). My order probably wouldn't change much though, because I'm not breaking 400 until after hitting level 24 and that's putting 2 into CON still.

Thing is though, there's not really a whole lot of reasons to even be using Blood Magic for the last fight, and with 400+ Mana you aren't going to run out.  I would rather have more health and less conversion items simply because it also forces me to heal Aveline more than I normally would be.

  Bug Alert!!!

This bug apparently happens when casting outside BM mode when wearing a Ring of Transitional Power(?) or Ring of Greater Empowerment, according to posters on the tech help board. Has anyone had this happen? My newest mage is ready to convert to a BM.

I came across the Ring of Greater Empowerment when I started shopping for my mage who is ready to transition to blood magic and googled it, coming up with the bug report.

It is a randomly generated rare ring with widely varied and differeng stats. I found it on the Tevintir Mage in Act 2. You can shop him easily once the cave for rescuing the apostate mage is open.

Ring of Greater Empowerment

+8 mana/stamina
+4% Fire Damage
+1 Blood
-cost 5 gold 43 silver

As a sidenote, the Tevinter mage sometimes has staves as well and he often has rares.

Grave Robber/ One Foot in looks more attractive than Sacrifice considering the bug.

Edit: Oh, here is an example of a random staff at the Tevinter mage.

Staff of the Magister 39dps
29 Cold Damage
14% Fire
+1 Blood
4 gold 71 silver

How's that?  Sacrifice doesn't actually cost you anything to cast.  Then again, I never bother buying any ring other than the Ring of Ruin and The Fallen Star anyway.  I read what the bug is supposed to do, but shouldn't the spell already have a casting cost before the bug could even work?  If it's just taking more health away from your target than it should be, then that can be an issue, if it's more than 40%, but otherwise I'm not seeing the issue.  I still see no use for Grave Robber either, but that's just me.

I also don't remember the Tevinter merchant, but I've never gone back to that cave after the quest was finished.
