I haven't gotten far into the game though I have been speaking with all my companions, In order to activate a romance Hawke must choose to flirt but does Hawke have to give them that idea? (besides Isabela)e
If you talk to a companion alot and yet you haven't selected any flirt options, Can your companions bring the idea of romance or flirting if you don't? :/

Isabela and Anders both sort of put themselves forward... Fenris and Merrill don't do anything romancy unless the player flirts first.

i found isabella & merrills the easiest romances
isabella is kinda loose so it dont matter if your romancing more than her, you can still flirt & explore other options
merrill dont seem to get it at first but she seems to clue in at some point
anders has to be kind of pushed into it but its easy since when you do start romancing him he has more than 1 flirt option for quite a few dialogues
cant tell ya about finris, havent done a playthrough romancing him yet
