Uhh, why exactly did I pay $10 for the Soldiers Peak DLC?

Ok, is there more to it then I'm seeing here? Because if this is an idication on what to expect from paying $10 for a DLC then I'm prolly gonna pass over any future ones.  I'm not sure if I'm missing something here but it was so not worth it...  I breezed through this place is less then a half hour, got absolutly no items of value I can remeber, and no new companions and the keep itself was one of the smallest dungeons I've been to...

Anyone thinking of purchasing this, don't.  its a waste of money.

It has a nice story, some nice items, and extra abilities.

But yeah it could have been bigger.

Not a waste of money imo

Lots of people only had to pay $7. And the Warden's Commander Armor is the best suit until you start get Juggernaut/Blood Dragon/Wade's Dragonbone. And the best sword in the game, Starfang.

I liked the whole flashback ghosts setup.  Really nice way of presenting the history of the keep.  I've not found the abilities all that great for my Warrior, but my Mage did enjoy them.

How are you completing this in 30 minutes? What level were you?

Well, that sounds awefully like buying gold in an MMO to me.  If the reason is to get more powerful equipment than you would normally get while not providing a more challenging experience to compensate, well to me that is kinda like cheating.  IMHO that is.

I thought the content was pretty good. Nice back story to the wardens and a pretty good boss fight. It's not exceptionally long but I thought it was worth the $7. I wouldn't say the armor was free either it cost me a couple health pots to obtain it through the entire keep and as we know those are worth their weight in gold.

The most disapointing is that once you've done it you can't get inside anymore EVER

"but.. but.. it's MY keep!"

"NO! you stay OUT!"

:'(

ooh yeah and the "did that evil mage that experimented on templars gave you any trouble?" question should be answered by "i don't know, we can't even get in!"

or maybe it's just a bug in my game :/

Ok...I'm sorry...I don't normally flame people for their comments but really? So using that analogy, you are saying: example - that if someone playing World of Warcraft decides to run the headless horseman event and gets an epic item out of it then they are cheating because they ran an event that really isn't all that challenging and the loot isn't something they would normally get. That just doesn't make any sense to me. It isn't cheating since A. the concept of "challenging" is different for each person and B. It is content provided by Bioware. I can maybe understand if it was a mod or something, but come on.

***spoiler***

To be straight, the armor isn't something you automatically get. You only get it by making a certain choice. If you don't make the "certain" choice, you don't get it. And the sword isn't just sticking out of a chest. You have the sword made for you.

I thought it was sort of disappointing because you don't get the option to have sex with Sophie. I know she's possessed and way old and has rotting sores, but she wasn't that bad. :/

The most disappointing thing for me was how easy it was to get the Starfang. Seriously, I'm putting Warden's Keep off until I hit the point of no return on this playthrough. Lore aside, it's crap.

What I found so disappointing is that you were not able to use the keep as your party camp. All of the descriptions I had seen made it look like a replacement for the party camp and then i find out that once you go there once your are locked out forever. How lame is that, I never would have bought it if I had known that is would be so short and then useless after that. Lets hope they put some more meat on the future DLC or else i wont be purchasing any more. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me.

Yes really, your example does not work because the player did not buy the headless horseman event, how have people 'bought' the items in your example?  People are saying that the only reason to buy Warden's Keep is for the really powerful items in there, so they are essentially buying it to gain access to more powerful items than they would normally be able to, which is why I was comparing it to buying gold.  I'm not saying it's wrong, just that in a way that is what is happening.

It wasn't that bad, although it could have been longer.

It definitely felt too short.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a longer dlc w/ less item incentives. Sure the items and spells were nice, but I'm more interested in playing content.

Also, I believe this illustrates why a full blown expansion is better than dlc. You simply can fit more material and form a larger story arch.

My biggest complaint is really the same one voiced several times....you cannot get back in the keep after you leave. Why is beyond me. It would have been nice for it to have replaced the camp as my base, especially since my storage chest is there. So overall, knowing what I know now I would have paid a couple bucks for it but I cannot rate it worth the $7 I did pay. Not really a big deal overall but it will influence my future purchases of DLC.

Personally I enjoyed it as a cool side adventure. My only complaint (as others have mentioned) was being locked out of the keep at the end and the fact that it doesn't become your base of operations. That said I'm hopeful it will be opened up/expanded in the future.
