1. you get a permanent storage box outside of your inventory

2. you get a new high level store and blacksmith

3. you can get the blood magic specialization, which is not the same as blood mage.

4. You get the armor and starfang

5. [Spoilers in grey text] If you let Avernus live I think you will get something in a future DLC. He is cooking away in there.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

DLCS should NOT be about items. NOR about key functionality that should have shipped with the original game, the chest. =/

DLCs should be about new adventures. That's why these DLCs are too short and unsatisfying, less items more adventuring, I hope Bioware is listening!

Alright, i really don't get the appeal to companies for DLC. perhaps just a way to overprice something that already existed. By this i mean it is just a "revisioning" of a very old concept to increase profit. Instead of breaking the game down into pieces you buy. I.e. a character here, a new dungeon there, some extra classes and skills just release a expansion like you guys used to do. You got my money for the baldur's gate expansions. I would gladly shell out money for Dragon Age expansions. Probably so would most people on the forum. Just take the time to work all the material together and it will add so much more then just little fragments. Further more, you would probably do much better considering of how taboo terms like DLC and Microtransactions can be.

One additional point I would like to make: some people are saying that while short, when comparing the size with other areas in the basegame it comes up about right for the price. What these people are not taking into account however is that the price of the basegame also covers development of the system used for the game, development of technologies and tools needed to make the game, development of the setting, character system, etc. There's alot more than just content you're paying for there.

And as for the 'it costs as much for a cinema ticket crowd': I do not consider cinema tickets to be good value for money either and don't bother going to them. "It costs less than a drink at the cinema" that's why I don't buy drinks at the cinema. Just because Hitler killed less of his people than Stalin did over their reigns does not make him good, it was still wrong. Maybe people should start tearing down these ripoffs instead of using them as justification for their own self-indulgence.

Remember, if in doubt think: "What would Morrigan do?" I somehow feel she would say the same thing.

What do you people want to do after you finish WK, have your party over for coffee and hang out? Wanna take Morrigan upstairs for a roll in the hay? Stop whining about this DLC. If you feel it's a ripoff, don't buy it and be done with it.

Don't bring up genocide in a video game discussion either, it's just dumb.

i think the wardens keep was fine. it had decent length and very nice stroy and environment. i am hoping for a general trend to longer (and thus also more expensive) DLC's in the future tho, the size & price of what regular addons have been in the past.

i am glad i got the stone prisoner questline 'free' with the CE tho, because i found that to be really terribly short, and not worth the money had i bought it.

I won't bring up the genocide again as long as others stop bringing up the 'If I buy a overpriced coke from cinema then it costs more" justification, deal?

Because it has some uber items in it. I mean, cmon, massive armor with 26 Str requirement?!?! Yeah yeah I know, but you can even get it upgraded at the...wait for it...smith, who happens to be located at...stay on target, stay on target...THE KEEP!!! YES ladies and gentlemen, we have a weinner. Plus the chest, while it may be gimmicky and prolly should have made it in the game, is a nice addition. I like to store my oodles of just-in-case gifts there and a bunch of the ingredients as well. That staff from the keep wasn't too shabby either, plus a couple extra skills that come in handy now and then. personally, I am satisfied with my purchase, even if I did have some gripes about it being Day 0 content.

But hey, if it helps to combat sales lost to pirates and gets us more content all that much quicker, I will be buying more DLC in the future:)

So THIS is where the storage is hiding, been hunting every where for a place to dump off all this gear with rune slots, been packing it around the whole game.

Sounds like you get locked out of the place after doing it. If this is true, do you lose the ability to access any items you have stored at Warden's Keep? I've been using the vendors in my normal camp as "storage", biting the bullet and buying back gear that I really want, to think there is an actual storage chest just waiting out there.. for $9.24 AUD...mm. It's tempting but, seeing as the dollar is nearly 1:1 and you guys all paid $7 USD for it, I'm just not sure I am going to pay $3 extra to store items when I am at the end of the game as it is (first play through though, could be useful to have next time around).

I know, when I saw that chest of storage, and the guy standing next to it, I half expected his conversation to start something like this:

"HELLO MY FRIEND. STAY AWHILE AND LISTEN!.

I think it was worth it. For the cost of a movie ticket I got:

new weapons and armor. The armor is "upgradeable".

The Best sword in the game.

3 Quests.

History and insight into the Grey wardens

2 new skills

Storage chest.

So basically - I play the game 3 times, thats about 3-4.5 hours of gameplay, new items, 6 skills in total and a storage chest. Not to bad at all for R50.

DLC does not provide a big enough "chunk" of new content in any game where I have tried it. And, it's entertainment per dollar ratio is too low.

I very much prefer the traditional full expansions -- where all the potential DLC is integrated into a worthwhile extension of the storyline.

Hmm. I'm easily confused - can someone clarify for me why the thread appears to be about a DLC I've not heard of ("Soldier's Peak") but is actually about one I have heard of ("Warden's Keep")? Was it retitled in some localizations or are they separate and different DLCs or is it just an error in the thread title?

You can go back. You can't get into the castle any longer, but the vendors and chest are in the yard outside.

hmmm I spent around 1 hour and 15 to 20 minutes there, it cost me $7.

so um, lets see.

I spent $7 and got over a hours worth of play time, not to mention that I play on playing through it at least two more times, so thats really 2 hours and 20 min. of play time for $7, that hardly buys me lunch, nor will it buy a movie ticket, or a rental movie.

Soldier's Peak is where Warden's Keep is located.

Yep - my only disappointment was the one already stated many times. I guess it was expectation from having played Oblivion but not being able to go back in to the keep was a bit of a let down, especially as they are saying they are working at fixing it up. I guess they didn't want to give the DLC buyers too much of an edge on those who didn't buy it, but having a place you could walk around in and maybe help decorate and chill in would have been nice, as would having the chest indoors.

Why on Earth did they decide to do a whole Warden's Keep and then not move your party's camp there? Why do they want me to travel to two separate locations just to manage my party and then to manage the items my party is using. It seems like really sloppy planning and execution in what is otherwise an extremely well-executed game.

This has to be the single dumbest and most disappointing thing thus far about this game.

Take the damn thing back just to get to stand around a bonfire in the freaking snow outside of it.....VERY, VERY poorly done Bioware. Shameful even.

I just don't like being bled for more money than I already spent on the game. Or perhaps everyone else asked their parents to pay for it? :-)

I want an expansive Keep to hang out in.  The coffee is optional.
I'd take Morrigan for a roll in the hay, and my mabari can offer moral support.

It is bought.  That's how we experienced the disappointment.  If there were an accurate summary of what should be expected with the DLC being released, perhaps people would know better.  "Featuring nearly ONE HOUR of additional gameplay" probably doesn't entice as many purchases, though.

For what was paid, there should have been a lot more to do.  Why gloss over the trip through the tunnels?  That could've easily been included for a decent infusion of playtime.  Then you get locked out after clearing the glorified hovel?  I mean, from the outside the majesty was evident.  Inside amounted to a decent-sized house at best.

Most people pay $7. And the Warden's Commander Armor is the best suit until you start get Juggernaut/Blood Dragon/Wade's Dragonbone. And the best sword in the game, Starfang.

I liked the whole flashback ghosts setup.  Really nice way of presenting the history of the keep.  I've not found the abilities all that great for my Warrior, but my Mage did enjoy them.

Well, that sounds awefully like buying gold in an MMO to me.  If the reason is to get more powerful equipment than you would normally get while not providing a more challenging experience to compensate, well to me that is kinda like cheating.  IMHO that is.

Seriously i could care less about powerful equpement.I don't  wear an helmet because i find them ugly.
Hell i'm still using my chasind robe at level 17 on my thief  and i found it at the beginning of the story.

i prefeer to look cool and bad ass than looking like a robot with a bowl of rice on my head.

and 10.00 it's expensive for Just that. You can purchase full product at direct 2 drive for that price on special day(which ppanes often) .. It's robbery.
