In regards to the wardens being to busy to fight the Qunari
- Obviously wardens are supposed to stay neutral, but it's been stated pretty clearly that there is a precedent not for them doing that in the Anderfels
-I think the wardens must still be dealing with the architect/talking darkspawn because even if the architect died, he explained to multiple people and darkspawn how to free the others- In this same vain remember that the Architect actually started the last blight
-As far as morrigan and Flemeth, I actually just played through the dalish orgin, when tamlen touches the mirror, he sees a "dark city"-Morrigan in turn takes a reborn old god through one of these mirrors-something to think about, especially considering the hints we have gotten through the last two games that the story of the maker is more complicated than it seems, (Merrill saying it kind of has holes, the gift for wynn that states that Andraste may have just been a very powerful mage)
-Another aspect of the dark spawn that I thought about came from the Codex description of Valdasine in the Primeval thaig
In the ancient days before the darkspawn, when dwarven cities wound through the roots of all the earth, House Valdasine single-handedly kept the empire supplied with lyrium.[/i]One day the mining family shut the doors of their thaig. They spoke not to their noble patrons, nor their king, and not even a visiting Paragon. Days passed in silence before the doors to Valdasine Thaig opened. Anxious partners discovered it empty. Not one soul remained - no bodies and no sign of what had happened.[/i]House Valdasine only left a staff of strange metal behind. It looked like lyrium and chilled one's heart like a remembered sorrow. The king sealed the staff inside the thaig, and no dwarf ever ventured there again.[/i]- As recounted by Shaper Merta

Perhaps the darkspawn came from this first thaig when they left?

All in all I think the conclusion of Dragon Age will be the removal of the darkspawn, with The Champion of Kirkwall and the Hero of Fereldan currently being on a crash course that will team them up against the spawn while simultaneously dealing with the problem of mages and magic

Intersting, my thought when Tamlen said what he saw in the Eluvian was that wherever the Archdeamon was in the in the Deep Roads it has one too and he he was seeing the AD and darkspawn. It does seems likely that DA3 will answer the question of where darkspawn really came from.

Actually, I like the way things are now concerning the origins of the darkspawn. The Maker turned the Tevinter Magisters into darkspawn. That might be true or it might not, but this mystery actually is better left untouched. However your post reminded me, of the presence of the Grey Wardens during act 2, when you're on your way to the Arishok. I wonder what they were doing, there, in the middle of the battle.

Maybe what the wardens were doing has something to do with the enigma of kirkwall?
