If one was to edit their save game file, does that take away the ability to earn achievements?

I want to romance one of the companions, but it seems at some point during the conversations I didnt pick the "<3" option so now I'm screwed.

Is there a tool for editing a save game? I've been playing through and just noticed that my Warden who is supposed to be dead, is apparently alive. I'd like to change this.
