Pre-ordered off play.com.... Never got amulet of ashes or Fadeshear codes :-(

Sorry if this is spam or already answered I've checked through couldn't see anything on it......

Basically I pre-ordered Dragon age 2 for the PC off play.com weeks in advance, which included a pre-ordered bonus code for the amulet of ashes. I can show an email receipt if thats needed.  Its DEFINITELY one of the particupating retailers since I followed the link http://dragonage.bioware.com/da2/info/ to the store!

But I never got a code for the amulet OR the Fadeshear OR the Lion of Orlais?? What gives? Could someone please help me with this I'm seriously crushed the two bonus items I wanted the most (extra XP and gets better as I level), I never got a code for :-(.

Anyone able to help? I love these bonus items :-(

No idea, I've complained twice and and have never even heard from them. It will be the last thing i buy from them.

I refuse to believe there is no way I can get it I mean if I went to Bioware support and explained the situation could they not give me a code? I can show the email proving I bought it. I did EXACTLY what I was told to do to receive the bonus items and I got nothing!

Gamersgate is the same, I guess EA just aren't playing with some digital distributors, nicely.

Kinda riculious I wouldn't care if it was my fault in some way or some mess up in the post or something but everything was done exactly right. Ordered it well in advance off a retailer from THEIR website and I still didn;t get THREE bonus items promised to me.....

Could a bioware person explain to me or point to me a thread which explains what I should do? Or am I just meant to go oh well and move on? Can nothing be done?

I never preorder anything from Play anymore since I had a similar debacle with preorder keys for a different game. The bottomline is that Play simply aren't very good at preorders, they mess up the preorder keys on a regular basis and their games often arrive late.

All you can do is continue to badger them to give you your preorder key, because they're the ones responsible for the screw-up. I don't know if they changed this but last time I checked there was no contact email or phone number listed on the Play.com website (go figure), so you may have to use google to find out their email address from somewhere else so you can actually complain.

In future I'd advise going with any store except Play.com (or if you're in the netherlands, avoid Bol.com as well). Game.co,uk usually do pretty well, but then they're a store that ONLY sells games. In general online or brick and mortar stores that specialize in selling games handle preorders best and I'd advise going with them in future. :)

I had an issue with Play.com with bonus content for Civilization V, it was about 3 weeks after I received the game (after plenty of pestering emails to them) before they finally sent me my code. As Miriel says, you just need to keep complaining at them!

Hi, just been checking but it seems the same happend to me. I preorded dragon age 2, with the bonus item, but never got a key or something else.On the bill from play.com it says dragon 2 (with pre-order bonus "amulet of....)

kinda annoying :(

I have had this problem twice now, the first time was with Fallout new vegas, and then with DA2.

All I did was email there customer services and explain the issue, and within a couple of days I got the codes.

Only got the amulet tho. That was play (UKs) item) AFAIK.

Well I sent them an email but to be honest its not even the stupid amulet I want its the sword that gains power as I level and the shield which gives me extra XP! :-(

If you're in the UK (or outside and not minding fees for calls abroad), it might be faster just to drop them a phone call.

The phone number is supposed to be on the website at the bottom, but when I look it's not there (might be because I'm outside the UK and it's giving me a semi-dutch site based on IP address), so just in case, the number is: 0845 800 1020 (UK number)

I had no idea anyone outside Best Buy got the Amulet until this thread. I am not arguing that with you because Google proves you're right about what you should get. I say that because Bioware's page on bonus items seems to only show what American retailers gave what. And I'm telling you this so you will have your ammo ready when you do what I'm about to tell you.

Best Buy was bad giving out the keys as well. Bioware was no help either. But I got my amulet, sword, and shield by going to EA's support chat. Go over Bioware's head so to speak. I spoke with their tier 1 and got NO help in 45 minutes. I stuck to my guns and refused to take no for an answer. I finally got transferred to tier 2 support and the guy gave me the codes in under 3 minutes. If EA's tier 1 won't help, ask to be transferred to tier 2. Now some posters in the thread about Best Buy issues said they got help with tier 1 so may depend on who you get over there.

Again, my first paragraph was to prepare you because you might get that one ass who tries to not help like I got and has no clue what items you were supposed to get.

Get your ammo ready! lol

Pre-order codes were given out separately and not in the game package. The reseller is the one responsible for providing this code so I would contact play.com

Well I went to play.com and left an email and they haven't replied in the slightest. Sheppard when you say you went to tier 1 support and all..... What exactly do you mean? I've never really had to go to there support before. Is it over the phone or internet or what?

Hey well I went to ea support chat and they were able to give me my code for the amulet of ashes. I think the trick is to say to them "Are you telling me there is NO WAY you can give me the codes I need?", because there not allowed lie to you. She tried getting me to send it off to their "Warrenty department", as in, actually shipping my game off to the UK were they could "verify everything"..... I stuck to my guns though and she came around eventually!

So if anyone else is stuck, forget play.com or whatever do what Sheppard7 says and just go to to EA itself and refuse to budge. I was at them for maybe 30 minutes.

Is the amulet working fine for you guys? I have it showing up in my promotions, but I don't think it's working in-game. I need to triple-check it when I get home, but... :/

Everything else is loading just fine and showing up both here on social, in the game menu and in-game, but this one doesn't seem to...

Well Funker I had to reinstall the game for the new promo codes to show, I kept my save game but not the settings. Once it was reinstalled it all worked grand
