I did this by accident.  But I was able to put all different companions' armor upgrades for the armor of just 1 companion, this is in Act 2.  I am not sure how it would do between Acts.  I don't plan to take this seriously, so it's really just for fun.

First, I ran into "No Item Restriction" mod from Dragonagenexus.com

http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=2143

What it does is to remove the stat restrictions of items so you can wear just about any armor and wield just about any weapon.  This helps a lot with people who constantly respec with Maker's Sigh (for testing purposes or whatnot), you wouldn't be stripped naked.  With this, Hawke can wield any weapon (even Bianca, but the graphic won't show), wear any armor.  And companions can wield any weapon too, giving Varric a staff will result in him carrying both staff and Bianca on graphic.  Somehow, I still cannot switch out companions' clothing.

Or so I thought.  After Act 1, since I purposely made Carver to be a Warden, he went off, taking everything he has on him, but he left in my inventory a piece of armor of something "Warden" that I cannot wear.  I am not sure if it is the doing of this mod or it was meant to be so.  But I was able to use this armor (Hawke can't wear) to put onto any companion.  Graphic doesn't change, but stats do apply.  :o  Although Merrill gets a floating head when she wears any armor that is not her own.  I went 1 step further when I went shopping for armor upgrade.  Say I want to upgrade "Varric's Tailored Leather Duster", whenever I encounter an upgrade, say for Aveline, I put Varric's Duster on Aveline, and the Aveline's armor upgrade applies to Varric's Duster since Aveline was wearing it.  With this, I would be able to put all upgrades into 1 companion's armor.  Think about it, how many companions and their upgrades, all for only 1 companion?

I did a few upgrades.  I didn't plan to go with this all the way.  So I didn't even save it and put it to test.  But I thought I would share this with people here so some of us may consider seriously to put every single upgrades for 1 companion, either to make a super Aveline tank, super Fenris, or super Merrill, or whoever you fancy.  Let me know how it goes.

Oh, I didn't write the mod. So don't complain to me if the mod breaks your game.  Do it at your own risk please.

P/S: I have put on heavy armor for my mage, it looks like Arcane Warrior. :P  Although the armor value is not so much better than the robe, and you don't actually get to turn Magic into Strength, so it is not really Arcane Warrior at all, just the look.
