No Friendship/Rivalry from Fenris in Act 2 "Questioning Beliefs"

I just did Fenris' quest called Questioning Beliefs in Act 2, where you get to hear about his past over a bottle of wine. I've tried several different approaches and never get any Friendship or Rivalry points out of this. Is this a known bug or working as intended? It just seems so very odd to have such a "milestone chat" with him and not get any F/R points out of it. If it makes any difference, I'm playing a male warrior Hawke (on PC), who's not romancing Fenris.

Nope, I'm at about 75% towards friendship, so there's still plenty of room for points.

I didn't get any approval point either when I did his Question and Believe quest. I was playing Female Rouge romancing him. I was about 80-90% friendship at that point. I replayed it several times, didn't get anything out of it. So I guess either you really just don't get anything, or it's a bug.
