Anyone else had a huge crush on Cullen?

I might sound crazy but I needed to get this off of my chest: I just loved, loved, loved Cullen.  Even though he had a pretty small role in both games, his character still showed so much growth.  He went from a shy blabbering mess who literally sprinted away from you rather than talk to you, because he secretly had a crush on you, to a fanatical mage-hater, to a Knight-Captain who had conviction and, later, also the courage to stand by his re-discovered principles.  In the end when he said to Meredith: "Yes, [I WILL take responsibility], because that's what I believe being a Templar is all about." and then when he drew his sword and pointed it at her (no dirty jokes please I've already thought of them all)...SOOOOO hot.

I suspect those who played a female human mage in Origins would especially love him.  I have to say that my heart kind of melted when I went back to the Circle Tower in Origins and found him muttering about how the demons knew just how to torture him, because apparently he had never stopped thinking about you and now think you're a hallucination.   And then in DA2 when he tells you: "I knew an Amell once..."  That is just so, so sweet!!!  The new Viscountess and the new Knight-Commander of Kirkwall = perfect together!  Do Templars take chastity vows?  I forget...

This my friends, is an example of what happens once you think the game is real.

I really liked Cullen. I hope they bring him back as a companion for DA3. When I first saw him, I thought, "Oh great. More crazy?" But then he ended up being more of the voice of reason. The way in which his character has evolved over time definitely intrigues me.

Are you listening Bioware? I'd like to see Cullen return FTW! :-)

Uh, just saying, I've liked the character's personalities in games, but having a crush is a bit far, no?

No, no crush on him. In DA:O he was a bit of an ass. In DA2 he's grown up although still affected by what happened in the circle in DA:O. Do I like him as a character, sure. But no crushing here.

I really hated him in Origins, but I have to say he redeemed himself in this game. He is a much deeper character, and the time period in DA2 really shines through for advancing characters.

I can appreciate his growth as a character too. No crush here, but I did appreciate him at least trying to be open minded with Keran, but 10 years?? That's way harsh for a possible possession. He was subjected to much worse than Keran and now he's knight captain? Turnabout is fair play FFS. He redeemed himself somewhat at the end by standing up to Meredith. I still think he wanted to arrest Mage Hawke at the end but didn't due to the bowing and finally recognizing maybe , that a mage can be used for Good.

There are people who've been wishing that their Amell Wardens could have gone back to him as an LI...

And no, I'm not one of them.

I personally have a crush on Lady Hawke, my gosh her voice..

As for Cullen, just like you said, his roles have been so far small, but the character development was great. Clearly his experience at the Ferelden Circle have influenced him greatly.

If someone had told me before I played DA2 that Cullen would return and be awesome, I would never have believed it. I thought Cullen was a dork in DA:O, and I remember one of my runs he turned into a psycho or something. But in DA2, he was so much cooler! I have only sided w/ the templars once for the trophy, but he was the best part of that experience:)

A crush? Maybe not. I like him though. Oh yes yes. Found him kind of bizarre in the female mage origin, although making him squirm was something I found rather cute. I really do enjoy his character development. He's a really well written character. I also found myself grinning when he mentioned my Amell as well.

Say... is there a Cullen signature bar/banner floating around somewhere? ;)

Although in the end he redeemed himself in my eyes by sparing the surrendered mages I cant really say I had a crush on him because I dont swing my hammer that way if you catch my drift......................

No crush here (well, maybe bit of a mancrush), but I was rather impressed with how well adjusted he was from Act I forward, considering where he left off in DA:O. And in Act III the first thing I said during cutscene before fighting Meredith was "Holy crap, Cullen's a badass".

C'mon mate, let people have their fantasies. I'm sure you have a crush on some person who is out of your reach. It's normal for us humans. People have crushes all the time to the "images" of other people, like to some TV-character or some Playboy model. It's as artificial as video game character is.

Let the person have her fun. :)

If by crush you mean "desperately want to crush with a blunt object", then I certainly felt that way towards him.
Especially since, as a female mage, he was somewhat interesting in Origins :|

I think Cullen's character grew quite a bit between games, but I still wouldn't want him for a LI. If you talk to him in Act 2 he still comes across as anti Mage. He's just slightly saber than Meredith about it :)

Thanks Arppis. I know this is me taking the game too seriously, but isn't that sort of the point of this forum? : )

Yes, it is. Ignore that other post from that other person. These boards would be slow indeed without people gushing over Alistair, Zevran, Morrigan, Leliana, Merrill, Fenris, etc.

I liked Cullen (a lot <3), and when I played as a female mage, I totally wished they could've hooked up. I think he's actually one of the ones they transfered to DA2 decently. (Nate is the other one)

Do want Cullen. Especially after DA2.

When Hawke first encounters him, I expected him to be crazy and paranoid for the rest of the game. Instead he became a voice of reason. I melt every time he says "What would you have of me, Champion."

Gah! why can't Hawke totally inappropriate flirty lines with him?

Naaaw, it is healthy to have fantasies about fictional characters. And it is fun to let the story and the setting sweep your feet off and carry you with it.
