The update I find most intriguing (and disturbing) is the one from the Hanar homeworld. We can all guess from it that one of two things are going to happen: the Hanar are going to give up their religion, or, and this one's more likely, they're going to worship the Reapers and allow themsleves to be 'ascended'.

They are going to go Jihad on the reapers when they find out that they exterminated the Enkindlers!!

Unless they find out the Collectors were once the Protheans. Than Shepard becomes the target of many drell assassins. After all, the Hanar can't do crap unless they're beneath the waves of Kahje. This is the impression I get when I speak to Thane. In fact, I'm sure he actually states it.

I just had a thought: Blasto comes after us. (snickers)

Speaking of Blasto, anyone else think that's supposed to be a mild insult directed at both humanity and the Hanar? (You know, human Spectre becomes delusional, incites panic, etc.)

All I know is this: I already have the points ready, and I am going to get this the first hour its available. (Unless I'm asleep, for some awful reason).

This one has no time for your unsubstansiated theories.

hmm Batarian goverment or some elements within the batarian goverment may well have been duped or indoctrinated to be a reaper ally. I remember Vigil and Legion saying that Sovereign had searched for allies for centuries.

Same group might have been behind the dissapearence of the leviathan of Dis, maybe one of the technologies that could help stop the reapers. And they certainly seem to be intrested in Dr. Kenson's work now. And Kenson is in their hands too.

Have to say tough those batarians breaking into the office were either in a real hurry or pretty stupid. No cutting of security footage or cleaning the place or anything.

Batarian Ambassador of what? They aren´t a Citadel Race anymore, or have I missed something...

Probably the Batarian ambassador on Earth, Even With the citadel governments would probably still have direct access to each other though ambassadors.

Kind of like now, We got the U.N but also ambassadors.

Thought about that too...but still - weren´t the humans the Batarian´s "No1 Enemy"?
Or are they having resentments against the Citadel Council races because they didn´t help them against the humans...?

Even at the very height of the cold war the Soviets had an ambassador in the US.

Usually ambassadors are only recalled by the time a shooting war breaks out(or sometimes as a political ploy but that's rare).

You have a point there =)

Is there a resistance movement to the Batarian Hegemony or not? I see mention of it on the web but haven't read all the books, so I don't know if that's part of the authorized literature or just fan fiction.

Either way, my Shep would cooperate with Balak if he had a viable way to kill Reapers by hitting them with astroids.

Reactions to the discovery that mass relays were not created by the Prothean civilization continue to pour in.  Oh Kahje, the response is largely denial and shock.  Religious leader All-Bright Olos the 10th, the Sounaril of the Manas tradition, reacted by uploading a 13-minute speech to the newsnets that urged calm and peace.  “It is no heresy to say that the Enkindlers themselves may have been Enkindled,” the hanar said.  “It is their example of selflessness, courtesy, and willingness to share their gifts that teaches these ones how to live.  To say there was something before them, an even more noble being, gives these pertinent an even swifter current to ride, a greater model to which we can all aspire.

It does seem likely that the Hanar will be at least inclined to help the reapers.  The last two sentences, "a more noble being...  a swifter current to ride... a greater model to which we can all aspire..." definately make me think they will be turned into reapers.

I also think there will be some big moral choice regarding the Hanar.
Option 1: Release some epic Cerberus made toxin on Kanje, kill the majority of the Hanar.  Stop them from making more reapers.  After all, they are only big stupid jellyfish.

Option 2: Don't kill the hanar.  Instead, destroy the toxin.  Say "No" to TIM.

There aren't enough Hanar to make a reaper, they are of no use to the Reapers.

Also, didn't the human reaper only need in the 10,000's of humans?

To get the Baby Reaper to the stage it was at needed several tens of thousands of humans. To build a complete, fully-functioning reaper would -- according to EDI -- take at least several million humans, if not more.

Well considering that there were no survivors from Horizon when Shep hits the Collector base and that one third of the 600K + population of Horizon was taken then the baby Reaper must have used them all. That doesn't count the colonies, Freedom's Progress, New Canton or Ferris Fields, that baby probably had already consumed close to a million souls.

Add to that the Hanar don't seem to have as large a population as humanity, nor does it seem that they have near the same number of colonies wither and I wonder if the Reapers would bother if they didn't have enough to make a baby.

I don't know if this has been asked already (mainly because I'm lazy to go through 5 pages of this thread), but how is it that there's a batarian ambassador on the Citadel?  I thought the batarians closed their embassy in protest of the humans getting colonization rights in the Skyllian Verge? I thought the Batarian Hegemony did not have relations with the Citadel and have become a rogue state?

It's in the codex in ME1, as the wiki states, if you care to notice: masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Batarian#History

I don't especially fear the Hanar becoming allies of the reapers... I'm more worried about their Drell assassins. If the Hanar do decide that the Reapers are more worthy of worship than the Protheans, can you imagine the damage they could cause if they started sicking a couple hundred Thanes on the galaxy?

Maybe they sent one to the Citadel from Kar'Shan. Not sure. Remember, they haven't been released on CDN yet, so the guys who write it may fix/alter the news.

When I read the March 23 news I also thought about the Leviathan of Dis. How many times when fighting the Blue Suns do the humanoids wear the same helmet and don't tell me they are all humans. The codex and Zaeed say the Blue Suns have many batarians and humans and we have seen plenty of batarians not wearing helmets in the Blue Suns.

I think the batarians that stole the Leviathan are part of a shadow orginization parallel to that of Cerberus more or less(preferably less). I also support the possible indoctrination theory, especially with what happened to the Cerberus team within the Reaper 'corpse' and this quote from EDI, "Reapers are sapient constructs. A hybrid of oganic and inoganic material." And the Leviathan is the remains of a genetically engineered starship.

We could be wrong...but what if we're right...
