Anders: Sometimes, I think you have the right idea.
Isabela: Handcuffs, whipped cream, always be on top?
Sure, he claims to be talking about something else, but whatever.

Perhaps I've found evidence that Anders does, in fact, prefer to be on top:

I don't know about Fenris being a top. I can't help giggling at a line M!Hawke says after they do the deed~
IT'S A LOT TO TAKE IN, I KNOW.

Anders... harder to say. But in my world, he's the top, Mainly because of the way he climbs on top of Hawke before the scene fades out... it's all we have to go on (sadly).
Anyway, I love that this is being discussed. And has gone 4 pages already. Comedy thread ftw!

You know, with all that latent aggression I'd have thought he'd have been on top, but from the fem side (rivalmance) he's the one that got pinned up against the wall....
Looks like Bioware agrees.
Anders seems like mostly a top. Seeing as how he does that "thing with lightning" I'd imagine he'd be open to whatever, though.
Also, great thread OP.

I admit I only recognize the first two of those Kanji, but I have a pretty good guess what you're getting at.
And as someone that has yet to romance Fenris, I can't disagree.

Consider Isabella for a moment... would you say shes a "top" or a "bottom" I'd vote her for being a "top" any day

One thing I think not many folk realize... Just because you are the bottom does not necessarily make you submissive just as being a top does not necessarily make you dominant. From a straight point of view how many ladies here on these forums would consider themselves the dominant party in their relationships? Sure you may be the ones being penetrated but that does not magically turn the role of dominance over to the male. In the same way from a gay perspective, the person doing the penetrating isn't necessarily the one calling all the shots in the relationship. There's just as many bossy bottoms out there as needy eager to please tops.

Oh, pish posh, penetration defines dominance, clearly.

I'm assuming most couples these days switch it up anyways. But maybe I assume too much.
EDIT: LOL I just noticed the "Goddamnit Anders!" sigs floating around. I think I might have actually said that out loud at the time he made things go pearshaped.

Huh. On that note Anders wears adressrobes. My Hawke's always wear pants, even my mage.
Some of my best male friends who are tops also wear dresses! (hey even a drag queen has to make a living right?)

In the Female Hawke/ Fenris romance, I can't imagine Fenris being the submissive partner. His personality is way too aggressive and domineering. The scene where F!Hawke is pinning him? That's because he's letting her. It's the least he could do after almost killing her.

Truly tho, I'm pretty sure the ambiguity on the subject is done on purpose. This way, their sexual... er.. (attempting to be PC, attempt failing) positions -- are left to the players'/RP ideal.

My F!Hawke let him pin her in the first place. I/she don't like being touch just as much as Fenris, minus the tragic past bit. She chose to touch him in the first place and invite a response.
He's definitely not submissive when treated as an equal. Maybe in a master/slave situation like he was in but not in DA2 relationship canon as far as I can tell. I don't necessarily see him or Anders as dominant either. Hawke is a strong lead regardless of the role. Must be that being a main character thing.

Makes Aveline looks sweet, subtle and understated (which was the intent) lol My guess: Basically, Anders does it her way, or with someone else. She would get along swimmingly with Justice, if only she were a mage...
So, I *think* Anders is a switchy sort. Maybe he kind of depends on who YOUR character is as to which side of him you will bring out. He always was kind of a free spirit. I would actually peg him for: vertical, passionate and fevered, almost desperate in its intensity. Not that I...errrr.....was thinking too much about it.
