Trying to respec my rog from shadow to assassin (clear tacttics, nothing on bar), drinking pot and when I save and load after that, I'm getting 4 skills speced (2 shadow, 2 dw). If I respec before save/load, shadow is still here as well. WTF?! Is it SO hard to implement such simple function properly?

yes a lot of people are experience this bug and it is very annoying. me too. there are workarounds but they did not work for me properly. Seems to happen to all classes and skills. you randomly get some old skills back. strangly the workarounds are about the tactics menu and dumping all consumables in a chest. but that did not work for me. i also think that would be very easy to fix but seems noone realy tested this.

when you use the respec potion you get 2 or 3 hidden abilities that you cant see initially, but are there and do get saved. You wont see them until you load the savegame.

Since Awakening, biowares QA department I would say is very very bad. Theyve slipped through some major bugs and some pretty obvious bugs like not being able to complete certain quests under any circumstances. Like hey, didnt you guys try and complete all the quests in the game?

Anyway, after a respec, i had to use the savegame editor, and figure out the codes for the abilities I shouldnt have and remove them out of the savegame file to actually get a clean ability page. It was a hassle.

yeah. first I thought they are passive abilities (which _can_ have explanation - they can actually implement these talents as applied abilities, but no - active one (like explosing(or -ev?) strike are here as well. I really can't figure how to make such a bug _on_purpose.

New**** ;) When I saw ME I though "wtf?! bioware sacrificed all programmers to cthulhu and hired new brilliant guys!? no bugs! all works!". DA:O confirmed my suspicions. But ME2 showed that some of old programmers surviced and now back at work. DA2 shows us that they started resurrecting their old comrades.

Look:

http://www.baldurdas...s/TOBfixes.html (kinda impressive list).

All these after ALOT of official patches.

Link please?

And will they fix these damn forums. No search (yes, I know about gg foo bar site:social.bioware.com), posting bug...

Here is the quick version on what to do:

Do a respec. Save the game, then reload the game. Count how many talents it added.

Now, run the editor. open up the savegame.das file in whatever savegame slot you are using.

Expand 0.
Expand the savegame_Playerchar section.
Expand the savegave_playerchar_char section.
Expand the savegame_creature_stats section.
Expand the savegame_abilitylist section

You are going to see a bunch of lines with number codes, you wont be able to know what they mean. There will be around 20, most of which you have to keep.

The new talents should be at the bottom of the list, so if there are 3 talents that shouldnt be there, remove the bottom 3 lines. If there are 2 talents that shouldnt be there, remove the bottom 2 lines.

Do a file/save As. give it a new name and replace the original savegame.das file with the new one.

That should work for you because after a respec the talents that were added should be at the bottom of the list. Otherwise you have to figure out which codes correspond to the ability you want removed which is more involved, but hopefully it will just be the ones at the bottom.

Good luck!
