Under your example the police would be a credible threat to all human life. Also the use of Taliban isn't exactly a good example either... in fact the differences between the Taliban and Cerberus and their relationship to Shepard/the bomber are so numerous that it makes almost no sense.

To clarify: I am not actually equating working for cerberus to bombing for the Taliban. I simply take issue with this philosophy:

Working for cerberus due to the "lesser of two evils" principle or because of an even greater threat is understandable, simply doing so due to the fact they saved your life is not, as the Taliban example shows.

What's that, Admiral Kohaku?
Oh no, I couldn't do that.
What? But I...
No no, you're right.  They deserve it.  All of them.

I'd be disappointed. It'd come out of left field IMO. :)

Give Hackett a high five and say " This club is pretty nice I didn't know you were a member." then Hackett would be like " I know they gave me a personal frigate, and the Alliance can never lock down the drive core" Cool Bro

During Arrival you find out Hackett works for Cerberus, how do you handle the situation:

A) Invite him onto the Normandy for a beer or whatever that blue stuff is
B)Cry to the Council/Anderson/random alien
C)Kill him

Definitely (A). A lot of Cerberus members are good people who are looking out for humanity, we shouldn't judge him just for belonging to Cerberus. Also we get to hear more of his voice if we go with (A).

What? How would that be good? Hey look, it's Conrad! He's Cerberus. Udina! Cerberus. Random NPCs standing around! Cerberus.

That makes no sense at all. Really, that's like every human in Star Wars being a Storm Trooper.

You do realise that Big Mac Heart Attack's comment was tongue-in-cheek?

I wouldn't do any of those things, I'd tie him to a chair and get Jack Bauer on him.

Hackett should be pro-cerberus.
Everybody we meet from the Alliance is anti-Cerberus like anderson and the VS or ignorant about them like the Normandy crew who just want to work for Shepard.

Its about time the Alliance starts showing some love towards Cerberus.

I don't know why people are saying having Hackett being pro-cerberus will be too much.
Because we don't see anyone actively working for the Alliance that supports Cerberus.

There were people in the Alliance who were Cerberus flunkies, who do you think the Turians arrested during the course of retribution ^_^

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he proves to be a cerberus backer. He seems the type to get the job done regardless of personal biases. Recall when you give the order to leave the DA high and dry. To paraphrase he says: to engage Sovereign nothing else matters. Truly rengade at its heart if not the right decision on top of that.

Personally i think that Cerberus never stopped being part of the Alliance just like TIM said the council has the specters the salarians have the stg and humanaty has cerberus.

Cerberus is an unsupervised terrorist group. The Specters and the STG answer directly to the Citadel and Salarian Governments.

Well, if I remember correctly Cerberus has ties with the Alliance, and there is a chance that Cerberus is actually part of the Alliance. So I wouldn't be surprised too much, if Hackett was somehow connected with Cerberus.
After all, even Anderson apparently had some shady dealings with Cerberus agents, according to the vid in SB base.
