Why is Hawke never invited? Everyone else, even Fenris and my dog, goes down to the Hanged Man to play Diamondback and Wicked Grace and get absolutely hammered, but they never invite me.

I want some drunken gambling DLC where I get to crash at Varric's palatial suite (after all, his palatial suite at the Hanged Man is my palatial suite at the Hanged Man).

Hahah that would be cute, but I'd rather see their resources put into something more meaningful. Still... why is Hawke never invited?

Varric would be telling epic stories to everyone, having fun.
Aveline would be having a nice drink with Hawke, and Fenris.
Isabela and Merrill would be playing wicked Grace.
Anders would be annoyed Justice doesn't let him drink, and be feeding a stray cat in the Hanged Man, and your Mabari would chase it off.
Sebastian would be getting molested by tramps who want his Starkhaven Babies. XD

I think it'd be awesome. I'd have loved it in the base game, no reason it shouldn't be DLC. The one thing DA2 didn't have enough of was companion interaction. DLC that just creates more of it would be great (and hilarious).
Besides, at least once every twenty minutes an insane blood mage would come in, so there could be some plot about discovering the blood mage conspiracy of inconveniencing Hawke to death.

It would be awesome! DAII certainly could use some humour of this type :)

The companions don't actually like Hawke that much. Oh, they think Hawke's a great leader who'll get them through any trouble, but also boring.

In the middle of playing Wicked Grace, Hawke would wander off to find someone their missing bookend or try to convince everyone to join her on an impromptu romp to the Wounded Coast to kill Tal Vashoth.

Hawke gets invited to noble parties. But I guess the Hanged Man is where it's at.

It's kinda like how a tax collector might be a valuable part of a football team but he still wouldn't get invited to the pub after the game because people can't seem let their hair down around him. They sense that Hawke has the power to decide most of their fates.

My Hawke will just drink. Alone. In his mansion.

Screw those guys at the Hanged Man.

Hawke would be the Designated Driver. Having to carry a boozed up Merrill on his back all the way back to the Hightown Mansion.

Oh, but with enough booze it'd be Isabela carrying Merrill back to her room at the Hanged Man. To teach her. About... dueling.

I always just got the impression that Hawke, at least my Hawkes, were just ALWAYS There. I mean later on in the game I walk in and everyone's like "HAWKE!" woo! No need to invite him.. or her.. because I practically own the place ;)

I was thinking this exact thing - that we needed some group camaraderie time at The Hanged Man to make up for the lack of party camp. Would soooo love to see this :)

The impression I got from the whole thing is that Hawke is the glue that holds the entire group together. Most certainly, Hawke is there for the fun nights at the Hanged Man, just like all of the companions visit Hawke's estate quite often (off-camera). If you look around Hawke's estate, there are lots of little things you can click on for interaction, such as finding Anders' Manifesto everywhere, Isabela's carving into the bannister, reading notes people left for Hawke (Merrill watered Hawke's plants, Isabela borrowed one of FemHawke's dresses, Varric embellishing Hawke's journal, Aveline giving Hawke a book about all the law in Kirkwall, etc.). Heck, many of the companions will come in just to spend some time with the dog.

I find it hard to believe that the companions visit so often, and yet don't invite Hawke to the Hanged Man.

That said... I would love to see this instead of being told of it after the fact.

Yeah I wanted the option to get wasted or go to a party. Especially after I ended with no family.

Hawke is a noble being forced to live in a slum and frequent a run down seedy bar. He/she wants up town accommodation and a high quality lounge, with a piano bar, and sushi and maybe a disco ball fro dancing.

No one ever really wants the viscount at their parties.

Hawke may be the offspring of nobility, but unlike his/her mother, it's not something that means very much to Hawke. I reckon that Hawke has spent plenty of time down at the Hanged Man with the crew, relaxing and building off screen friendships. I suppose that at first it would be awkward, but after a few months Hawke is simply part of the crowd.

My Hawke was extremely partial to getting lose-your-trousers drunk. Which is terrible, really, since he flirts with everything that moves. Sometimes things that don't move.

That all ended with Fenris, though, rather forcibly after that one time with the apostate and a bed lamp.

He still has the scar on his inner thigh. Fenris wasn't too happy.
