but in the accoun options in the game it says it can upload character information etc to the site (http://social.bioware.com) but when I look at my profile or anything, nothing is showing up for dragon age 2. I have registered the game. I do not know what I have missed or done wrong. Can i get some help please?

When logged in, look under "My Games", select DA2 and you should see your uploads.

If you go to Profile -> Full Profile (menu on the left) and then go to the Games tab, can you see a link to your DA2 profile under DA2 Profiles? If not click the Activate online Profile link behind the header. You may need to spam it a few times (that worked for me), or click it while you're logged in ingame or just after you exit the game.
Also regarding the speed of updating, sometimes it can take a while and some people have reported that initially their character updated fine but then for no apparent reason it stopped updating. In short, this new system seems to be about as buggy as the DAO one, so don't expect too much of it for now. xD
