Okay, this is a little silly but one of the NPCs mentions that Dannic, after becoming involved with Donnic, actually gets harder patrols, then says the topic quote.

I...uh...don't  really know what it means.  Is she suggesting that his "performance" must be lousy if the result is him getting more difficult assigments?

I believe the guard meant that Donnic should take advantage of his relationship with Aveline to make his life easier. But he's too decent to do so.

I have to admit it took me a second to catch the joke when I first heard it, nice example of being subtle yet explicit at the same time
she's of course under the mistaken assumption that Donnic is getting harder patrols as a punishment rather than a reward

I definitely took it as a joke that his sexual efforts were lacking, causing him to get harder patrols.
