There are also a couple of other comments that Anders makes during sidequests that openly display his attraction towards Male-Hawke even after shutting him down. There are also gross heart options that are available even after shutting down LI's. How many times do I have to say NO before the game figures out that I'm straight?

Of course you don't.

For those of us who aren't gay, bisexual, curoius or whatever the pc termanology for the word **** is nowadays. It is quite unwanted and I don't know why the developer didn't put the option in during character creation instead of making straight players constantly turn down lewd requests from their male companions.

On a side note it did make me play as a female lead (first time ever).

Ha. Constantly? Try once. One advance from Anders, that you can immediately decline. If that's such a huge deal to you, that's your problem.

Try twice both Feneris and Anders hit on me for just being nice to them (RO was not pursued).

The fact I get riveraly points for telling them "I don't swing both ways" is again not cool.

Perhaps it is not cool, as you say. But it is possible that this would happen in certain areas of 'real-life' though. It certainly has to me and a lot of the LGBT community that I have interacted with. The rivalry points thing - I think points would be added towards someone who turned you down. For whatever reason it may be - upset, embarrassment, i don't know. I just kind of agree with the rivalry points addition for turning a companion down. Kind of..

I don't see the problem. You can avoid romance all you want. Ander's actions go in line with his creepy obsessiveness and you can be rather brusque to him if you feel you must.

I think the idea is neat and allows fair play across the board. Taking offense to a feature completely voluntary and optional like this seems asinine.

So straight male players turning down lewd requests from male companions is unwanted? Yet females being approached by other females is not? You are quite contradictory in what you have argued here and also the fact you end by saying you played as a female. Why was this? So you could persue a lesbian affair, or so you could see the gay men side? Either way, again contradictory. If bisexuals offend you (or sexuality in general for that matter) then don't pick the option on the radial wheel. I don't understand how you can't just ignore. There is nothing wrong with what BioWare did..in fact it is quite refreshing for those of us with an open mind.

Call me old fashioned or whatever but I want my male companions to watch my back not my behind.

As far as the "quite contradictionary" part goes I consider both situations quite ridiculous (we have mages being oppressed but buggery is allowed in the open by the chantry?) but at least with the female lead it could be entertaining.

What is wrong with buggery? who says it is wrong and why would the Chantry say it is wrong? And just because your male companions may be gay and interested in you, does not mean they are any less of an amazing mage/warrior/rogue! You know, us gays/bisexuals don't always watch those close to us' behinds! We are people too..just as you straight people are, who don't always look at the opposite sex! God, this is a pointless argument!

I could tell you, but I might get reported for harrassment. I don't know what it is, I just keep inappropriately staring at every woman I see regardless of the situation. Must be because I'm gay.

Actually, unlike Leliana or Zevran none of the companions is bisexual, just like Hawke doesn't have two genders at once and like not both Carver and Bethany are killed by the Ogre. They are all heterosexual or homosexual depending on a condition set by Hawke's gender, there just wasn't the need to program it as a real trigger.

Oh, and nice pun: Let me get this "straight". ;)

That's great tell bioware to develop a game where that is the case.

Maybe instead of praising bioware you should criticize them for portraying the "guy" who unwantedly hits on guys inside the lockerrom.

As far as the chantry goes you know as well as I do that almost no religion of any sort is acceptant of gays. Now we are supposed to believe a world run by a bunch of templars and zealots is going to allow buggery out in the open? Where companions feel comfortable hitting on Hawke without being pursued or sure?

That's not true. Isabela and Anders are bi, Fenris and Merrill don't talk about it.

I think we should all thank BioWare for taking such a drastic step to satisfy all its GTLB fans!

Somehow I happened to forget about Isabela. When does Anders talk about that? I must have missed that.

Spoiler: Karl was Anders's "first." He only talks about it with a dudeHawke, though.

Even with a male Hawke, Isabela makes it pretty clear in her background chatter to other NPCs that she's been with women. That whole "men are good for one thing, women are good for six..." business.

Just GLB fans at moment.

I'm sure they are saving transgender for their next installment of dragon age.

Although do elves qualify?

How are their toes being step on, I fail to see that, it's an OPTION after all.

You have the option on how to respond AFTER getting hit on and not one of them was what I really wanted to say which was "Give me back my equipment and get the hell out of my party. I don't swing that way!" (my Hawke was a badass who didn't understand the GTLB community).

I didn't push that button.  I got no complaints.
