Personally I'm used to Morrigan, Liliana and Alistair. I suppose it's because I spent alot of time with this party. Other member just didn't feel right.
But What is your favorite party to take into battle?

Before Wynne(sp?) it's me (a mage nuker), Shale (powerhouse tank), Leliana (as an archer rogue but mostly for lockpicking) and Morrigan (controller mage).
Once I get Wynne, I replace Morrigan with her and use her as pure healer.

I agree with Shale being a powerhouse tank and he has some quick sarky and funny comments xD

Whack up his constitution and teach him the skills on the Stone Heart path and he's practically invincible. He's my only Tank. My only Melee fighter, yet he still managers to dash forward and take punishment from a small mob while the rest of us take them out from afar.

bear in mind that won't work if you're surrounded/ambushed. you'll have to retreat your main char and even then you'll probs have one enemy on you. Shale's mob handling method (and I mean only small mobs) only works if you're approaching the mob. Just make sure his tactics are set to Aggressive Defender.

Usually me(Rogue), Shale(Tank), Alistair(Support, I guess), Morrigan(Ranged)
Sometimes swap out Alistair or Morrigan for Wynne.

My warden is a bad-A mage. So my favorite party is her, Alistair - done right (add Champion specialty) he's the best tank in the game for me
, Shale, and Zev. Nothing fazes this group for me. Plus the comments crack me up.

For me it's Alistair, Wynne, and Leliana or Oghren. My PC is also a S&S warrior with the same specs as Alistair--templar/champion.

depends on the character I'm using. as warrior I often take Sten (Ogren), Morrigan (Wynne), Leliana, rarely used Zevran and Shale, Leliana is always in my team

For my current playthrough it's me (Rogue), Dog, Alistair, and Sten.
No, there are no mages, unless it's one of those optional boss battles where the prompt healing is essential. Yes, I suck down health poultices like crazy (and it did NOT make me happy to notice that a glitch destroyed all but one of my poultices at one point), but drat it was fun. Having no mage also means I don't have to worry about buffs being dispelled for one reason or another.

Interesting to see what other people's are using. Also @j800r I'm still waiting to get round to trying that Shale build you talked about yesterday. Been working on a couple mods. Nothing fancy lol

Is a team with a warrior (me), my dog Bite, Leliana and Morrigan a good team, or will I have difficulties at the end of the game (or maybe earlier).
Is the dog a good choice?

As a rogue I would take Alistair, Wynne and either Sten, Ogren or Morrigan depending on what I felt I needed at the time.
As a DW warrior I would take Alistair, Wynne and Lelianna. I would like to take Zevren but he comes into the fold fairly late and lacks the utility skills that I need from having a rogue in the party.
I did enjoy having Ariane and Florian Phineas Horatio Aldebrant, Esquire as companions in Witch hunt even though it was a short adventure.

At Sim. I'm not sure as I always take Alistair in the final battle. If In doubt though make sure you have plenty of Mabari crunch on hand

My favorite party was Alistair (sword and board tank), Leliana (archery and lockpicking), Wynne (healing and buffing), and my Warden (2hander warrior). Not only does it cover pretty much all my bases, but the characters are all of more or less the same alignment, tend to approve/disapprove of the same things, and generally mesh well with my typical 'do-gooder' playing style.

I play as a two-handed axe wielding warrior - and my group consists of Wynne as the healer - Morrigan as back-up healer and crowd-control and Alistair as the tank. I occasionally use Leliana who replaces Alistair.

SHE has some snarky and funny comments. Shales a girl or rather, WAS, a girl.
That said my favorite group is Oghren, Alistair, and Morrigan. I find it very hard to travel with anyone else... even though I love all the companions (save dog, sorry, but a dog just can't be as intresting as a person)

For my first playthrough I used mostly Alistair, Leliana and Morrigan. Sometimes I substituted Wynne for Morrigan and Sten for Alistair

Alistair, Leiliana and Morrigan seem to be the major characters in the game tho I've played a lot without Alistair. But I haven't ever used the same combination twice. And I never tried Oghren at all.
Zevran and Wynne have some funny banter (I am a monk (using a mod) with Morrigan also .
Zev and Leiliana can be fun. (I played a dalish rogue and we all became rangers with wolves and so Dog was the other party member... was fun *grin*. Dog has some really good moments and a little banter with party members... the uniqueness of it is funny... you definitly have to take dog to Denirim at least once.)
Sten has an interesting concept, not noticed so much banter with companions really, but worth a playthrough at least. He can tank if you split his talents with the shield line (so when he gets stamina reduced to very low set tactics to switch to weapon set 2 which is s & s and shield wall)... or get the mod to reset characters talents/skills/attributes etc and rebuild him.
I played an all girl version, which worked well. Just give Leliana lots of STr to wear heavy armour... I did the mages with lots of glyphs and all other spells as RP for them. Was fun *grin*
For me the point is to find some unique concept (as you might have guessed)...
have fun

Not using Leliana means missing out on so many locked chests (and sometimes doors). Zevran's lockpicking skills are awful, so he's really not worth using in her place. Unless you're a rogue yourself I'd recommend always bringing Leliana along. She's an absolute asset.

Usually I'll have Alistair, Leliana and Wynne in my party. If my warden is a mage, then I'll bring along Zevran/Oghren/Sten instead of Wynne.

Very true, but isn't this why all those wonderful modders made such nice things for us? *cheeky grin*
Lock bash
open lock spells
Character respecialisation
Have fun
