I sold Ser Wessley's shield at one point thinking it wouldn't matter but later on in the game when I found that shield for Aveline she said "I used to have some bla bla shield but WE sold it didnt we?" Woaah! I didn't think she'd notice! Did anyone else notice that?
Q about selling Ser Wessley's shield

Yep. You apparently get different dialogue if she's still wearing it for some reason.

I kept it in storage and Aveline still accused me of selling it.

I equiped her with Wesley´s shield just before giving her the gift and Aveline just says that she already has her husband´s shield. The rest of the dialog remains the same and she accepts the gift in the end.

I'm fairly sure I put it in the storage box, and she told my Hawke he sold it.

Same here. I tend to hoard "sentimental" items quasi-obsesively in RPGs, and this was the first time it actually paid off- or would have, if I had bothered to reload to before that conversation.

For this occasion I equiped Aveline with Wesley's shield and all it does is skip the accusation dialogue. Not a huge pay-off for reloading a save.

You get a different line if you have it in your inventory, unequipped (but not in storage). Details!!

yeah, I thought it was neat that there are 3 different lines you get depending on where his shield is.
Sold/storage, in your inventory, equipped on Aveline.

You know, for all the criticism DA2 is taking, there are a lot of fun little details like this. Though it would be nice if there were bigger repercussions. I thought I'd be in for it for selling the shield, but it really didn't matter. It was time for her to get over Wesley, anyway. I thought he was a ******.

Same here. When she snapped at Hawke for selling it, I fell in love with the game again.

yup, same here. I never sell companion only weapon/armor, for sentimental reason. I either carry them around or store it when game gives me this option.
I think Aveline will say that line regardless.
