I will pre-order it, but keep in mind that by the time pre-orders are available we will know at least something about the game already.

I don't pre-order as a rule. That's why I don't have to complain about wasting $60+.

And I'm not with the 'bioware is ruined, this game is garbage, devs don't care' crowd. The game looks like it has some worthwhile elements, so I'll just continue to enjoy Origins while I wait for the price to plummet, and wait to see how much of the problems in this game they actually fix. I have to say, Act 1 does sound painful, and I do hate 3rd person narratives, though. I also hate enemies spawning in plain view, in waves, out of thin air in a modern RPG.

I played the demo and saw videos of gameplay online, I knew what I was getting into when I bought DA2 and I'll probably do the same thing with DA3.

Aren't you one of the people on the forums that I've seen complaining a lot?  If fans keep giving them money for rushed games, EA will keep forcing them to rush the games.

I like that you think EA cares about it's fans.  Good for you! :P

When did I say that?

I said they care about the money.  It's stupid to complain about the game, then keep giving them money.

No. Trust is lost. They are gonna have to work their a**es off to gain my trust again.
With NWN they at least tried to make a great game, even if I didn't really enjoy it, the effort was there, especially when it came to the editor and stuff outside of the main game. With DA2 it's like they didn't care anymore.

If someone puts an effort into something but fails, I can still appreciate the effort, but if they fail, without putting any effort in, well... I'll just move my money elsewhere

Sorry. Thought it was implied with EA saying 'Fans giving us money for rushed game, we'll rush more  - and - Fans aren't giving us money for rushed game, maybe we shouldn;t rush the game'.  Where as I always saw EA as 'Rush game - Release - Role in money - Fire people if we don't role in enough money'.

No matter. It wasn't a dig at you, just at EA.

I will more than likely. If there are not any pre-order bonuses I'll wait until a few weeks before it is released, though (that's a laugh). For all its flaws, I still think Dragon Age 2 is a great game and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

I think I will do, in-spite of the DA2 disappointment if I never pre-ordered a game from a developer that had one lousy game in their development history I’d never pre-order any games ever.

DA2 isn't my first run in with EA, for years all of their games have been "demo" before I buy. DA3 (if they bother to make one after this) will be the same.

Well, I don't think that's necessarily true. So far everything Valve touched turned to gold. Blizzard too (ok, I never played WoW, but no one can deny its success). But yeah, Valve and Blizzard have this funny approach "quality over quantity", so I guess they ARE an exception.

After Dragon Age 2, I guess, I'm better off waiting for some information.

If Dragon Age 3 has a development time of less than 2 to 3 years then no, I won't pre-order. As it is I'm feeling all kinds of angst about how ME3 and TOR will turn out now. I know -- different teams, different priorities. But DA2 has totally shattered my confidence in BioWare. It's not a bad game, but it's not a game I would have liked to have paid more than $30 for, let alone $60.

It was obvious the game would suck long before demo, I cancelled my pre-order months ago - still got it as a present, well, at least I know I was right, act 1 and bored to death, not planning to finish it.

Not a chance.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

When/if DA3 is announced, I will be hard pressed to even consider buying it unless they make major changes to not only the way the game is developed, but about the information they give to people about the game long in advance. We didn't even get to see a video of DA2 till after the pre-orders started if I remember correctly and there was only a lot of speculation till about a week before the game came out.

I will be especially careful now that I know EA is up to their typical actions again now with BioWare. It reminds me a lot of how they treated companies who once made great games only to end up making shoddy games because of restrictions and silly deadlines EA put on them which lead to EA eventually closing them down because they couldn't just stick to distributing games and think they actually know how to successfully make them as well, though history shows us that is not the case.

It's really a shame to have this even come up because Origins has become one of my top favourite games, but this... I dunno what to even call it.

Im waiting for SWTOR since a Year now..

But after i got that thing they call DA2 im not sure of playing SWTOR anymore.
If DA2 is the Path BW is going in the future then BW games are not for me anymore.
Hopefully there is a Beta test for SWTOR.

And DA3? Well if they dont work alot on that one and change ALOT things from DA2 i will not even buy it 6 month after release.

I did preorder every BW game since BG2 (Skiping Sonic) but im cured now.

No, I won't pre-order again. I'll probably wait for a discount, just like I did with DA:O.

Edit: I just compared what I paid for Steam pre-order with current price on a local retailer:

It seems Fadeshear and Lion of Orlais (only advantages of pre-ordering) cost me about $5. (damn exchange rates)

I feel really silly right now... Image IPB
