I can't help but look at this and think "there's a puzzle to be solved!", kind of like with the barrels in Night Terrors.

I tried to see if accessing the graves in a certain order would yield any results, but it seems to me that accessing two of those graves (regardless of the sequence) initiates a battle with a number of corpses. And... that's about it.

Does anyone else figure otherwise? Or am I reading too much into this?

I thought the same thing and thought that the shrine had something to do with it but I was wrong. it seems you just loot them and get attacked when you loot the right ones.

Odd thing is, you can't loot those graves prior to Act 3, so I'm led to believe that they serve some greater purpose... But what?

Aaaah, I can't stop thinking about it!

I didn't. Those ghosts attacked me in the first and second act, time to steal thier silver!

not a big thing but, I think if you have Merril with you and she prays at altar first you can loot graves with no monster attacks.
