They could have as easily made a monosexual race of male looking aliens, but women are more accepted to be bi or gay in the media, games, ect.

It's the same with man liking women x women (girl on girl action). It turns us on. But women don't like man x men stuff (I did a survey on this in high school, no female asked liked the idea of two males getting it one).

... you did not just say that mate. Surely you must jest. I have done a fair amount of forum roleplay based either on a fictionalized setting or a real life one. Would like for me to dig up the heap of male slash from the female members? Unlike fanfic much is actually well written but you are deluding yourself if you believe women are any less attracted to male slash as men are to female slash. They are just less upfront about it.

I know that there are women who like that sort of stuff (yuk) but I was generalizing. Most women are disgusted by it. Before anyone says I don't know what Im talking about, I've researched this and Im not talking about internet surfing or google. I mean real studies. Plus, internet women are mostly bi women, who play videogames. Hasn't anyone noticed that? Most game playing females are bi. Kinda strange.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

*deep breaths*

... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

*more deep breaths*

.... ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Oh... oh I only wish that were true. Maybe then I could find decent Sephiroth/Tifa fanfic instead of waves and waves and waves of Sephiroth/Cloud fanworks in every possible permutation.

In all seriousness, this is patently untrue. Take a look at any female oriented fan community for anime, games or TV shows and the majority of it will all be male/male. It makes perfect sense... if boys like to see two girls together, girls are going to like seeing two boys together. Hotness squared and all that.

I don't doubt your survey turned up nothing, but consider that A) that's not representative of the whole, and B) a lot of women are going to keep quiet on liking male/male stuff because it's looked down on by others, particularly by men who don't "get it". Plus high school community != female gamer community.

I think your over the top laughter is premature, for, believe it or not, the female oriented fan community for anime, games or TV shows is a small group in the grand scheme of things and doesn't represent women everywhere, and is a lot worse than a survey done with a varied selection group.

Also I don't think women would keep quiet about male/male fantasies. Not these days. Besides, they never stop talking =P

I really hate that guy. I saw he was the troll OP but ignored him. The discussion seemed legitimate enough without him ****ing everything up with his "it's funny to rape women" comments.

Edit: Oh crap, he's here.

I think it's best if we refrain from personal digs like this and try to keep this debate civil. It was fun when it was still mature and well thought out. >.>

Right, and the possibility to be black was thrown to give the blacks a hero.

Do you realize that your post is disgusting? I suppose you don't.

You strike me as a person who takes offense way too easily.

I think it left. But it got worse while you were away :P  Very extremist views and has no idea what equality means.

Even tho I was just stating what the Devs said when Mass effect was just about to launch.

Seemed to come in with a chip on her/his shoulder to be sure.

Perhaps, but Nyoka is right in pointing out the inequality. It's not fair to give a single gay LI to gay players and figure that that is somehow equal to having six-eight potential love interests for straight players. Better to aim for the DA:O solution: most LIs shared with one or two purely straight. Of course, then we get into the argument over whether it's "too late" to do that, and we go back to the debate over whether it's out of character or not (you think it is, I think it isn't, whatever).

If I could go back in time and whack Bioware upside the head, I'd have them stick with the original idea of Kaidan and Ashley being bi (ME1 solved there), had Garrus/Jack/Thane/Tali be bi or "Shepard-sexual", and Miranda and Jacob be straight. Everyone happy... plenty of LIs for everyone, avoid the "whole squad is gay/bi" issue with some straight characters, and plenty of alien/human **** and peen for everyone.

And if I could go back in time and smack them in the head it would be to leave Ash and Kaidan alone, but to add two additional characters one gay and one lesbin, and even better, add 2 more to that who are bi-sexual.   I dislike the one for all and all for one idea.

They are never going to please everyone.  It's not possible.  They could make every person you meet a LI possibility and some people (me) would hate it.   Someone is going to complaine that the straight guy is too nice or boring or evil,  or the bisexual guy actually perfers girls becuase he had a girlfriend when he was younger.

I'd much rather them have characters that are well written with a consistant background.  I don't just play one game or one sex.  DA:O I had one for every romance option.  Male Wardon/Zev; Female Warden/Zev; Male Warden/Morgain; Female Warden/Alistair; Male Warden/Leliana; Femal Warden/Leliana.  DA:2 all of my Hawkes are straight, and I find that a loss.  I don't want a bland romance one size fits all.

I want individuals who stay individuals no matter what my character is.  I may not like them, I may even complain about it, but when all is said and done, I'd rather have a consistant character I don't adore rather than one that is so confused they don't know who they want to love.

If they decided at the end of the ME series to change the characters I've grown to know, it would be a very dispointing event.  Hopefully they will try something else, like bring in new characters which they will do anyway.

warning - link not safe for work. its not porn, but it IS erotic romance fiction publisher and some of the images are somewhat risque, not to mention the content. this is one of the bigger e-book publisher..out of many many more.. both e-publishes and paper ones.

http://www.changelin...er=theme&uid=25 note how many of the m/m stories are written by women (and trust me - for women, when you read gay fiction written by men for men, it has a slightly different vibe to it) I well bet you that out of all the m/m slash fic - majority was written by female fans.

female attraction to m/m relationships is not in question here and right now, its also an extremely popular romantic subject right now.

like I said - its not porn. its a legit romantic fiction publisher that just happens to be focusing on more erotic stories...and the nudity you might see on the actual pages is nothing more then what youd see in love scenes of ME1..in most cases - less. however - the warning had to be made, just in case. will I get banned for it? I don't think so

would you like me to post links to books sold i=on amazon.com instead?  casue I can.  easily.

Not saying you will. I once posted a link to massive ME hentai galleries (don't ask) on a Fornax thread and all I got was a closed post and a pad in the back from the mod.

I'm not entirely sure. People are giving in to petty arguments now. I think it's time for a swift exit, stage left. >.> It was fun whilst the maturity lasted. :)

(Every female in the FF series)

Yuna from Final Fantasy X. She is not portrayal in a sexual manner in any capacity and actually does not show cleavage. She was one of their best developed characters and coincidently is the driving focus behind the story alongside Tidus. If you read the plot of FFX, this girl's strength of will and determination is astonishing given what she had to deal with and accept.

Image IPB

This is Rinoa Heartilly, and she too is not sexualized and inside the catalyst to what motivates Squall to forgo leading a lonewolf life style out of a fear of losing people.

You are stereotyping a series you know nothing about.

Studies? One does not need studies to know these things. Sure I probably phrased that horribly wrong but I know for sure that some percentage of women like man on man, just like how  some percentage of men like woman on woman. Studies are irrelivent and is more about people's own taste, it's how it's been since the beginning of the human race no matter how much people want to block information.
Either way don't mind me mister misinterpretative raging man, I'm just reading and laughing at stupidity. You're only fueling my entertainment right now, please continue.
