Also, No one is saying that there should be NO bi LIs, it's just that there shouldn't be any changing to any pre-existing character.

Say that you play ManShep and romance Ash/Liara in ME1 and then Liara/Jack/Miranda/Tali in ME2 then the only one who would be changing their secuality would be Mordin by actually getting a sexuality. No one else will change because you simply do not discuss it with any of the others. It might come as a surprise to you or the LI, but it won't be changing. So keep Morind salarian and the rest Bi. It will work.

Mordin is a salarian. Salarian sexuality doesn't work that way (not like humans)

Salarians have a low sex drive though they have on occasion mesesd with both genders despite what gender they may be. Simply put Salarians few sex differently than other races and don't do it as much.

I think it is right for Asari to be bi. And LI's can be bi ONLY if it suits with their character.

But I don't think that saying that everyone should be straight is right. There is a fanbase for bisexual romances out there, and Bioware will appeal to them. Especially seeming though it doesn't (or shouldn't) affect those who pursue straight relationships.

As it happens, I think that the only people who didn't suit the bisexual romances in DA2 were Aveline and (less so) Anders. Because they all pretty much suited it, I was fine with it. I would never put it down for a reason why DA2 'didn't do so well.'

I'm actually thoroughly enjoying DA2!

Quite a few aren't against the bisexual fanbase. Actually, I stated earlier in this thread that I support male s/s romance in ME3 (and I'm straight) but, I would like it if it wasn't a pre-existing character. New characters being bi or gay would be perfectly fine.

Actually some people that posted here are against it. Not everyone, mind you, but you would be false to say that no one was against the Bi fanbase when clearly there are those which are.

Pre-existing characters have not pulled up a chair next to Shepard and said, "Hey, I identify as straight." Having heterosexual relationships in the past still doesn't make that character straight unless they say so. Sexuality is not black and white for everyone so why should it be for all the characters?

I find it hilarious that a Tali fan is getting his panties in a twist over the fear of LI's being made bisexual in ME3. Tali and Garrus were just our squadmates in ME1 and then because Mordin gave a "scientific" ok, it was possible to bed these two characters in ME2.

Kaidan on the other hand is just a human male, and there is no need for approval on if that relationship can work or not. Apparently, some people think that because he used to crush on some chick at brain camp, he is most definitely straight. Even if he dated her, we haven't heard from him if he identifies himself as straight or not.

Sadly, it's already been stated by Chud that Male Shep can only be straight and FemShep can be bisexual. So I doubt we will ever see any equality in ME3. A role playing game that is supposed to be about choice doesn't really let you do so. :-/ I applaud the DA2 team for having the gall to give everyone options instead of listening to people like the OP.

It ruins consistency, if you ask me. Also, does it matter that I'm a Tali fan? Some folks who agree with me aren't Tali fans. And please, PLEASE, stop talking about equality. This isn't about that. This is about not changing things to keep the characters constant.

And, I am currently considering working for Bioware(if they'll let me). And, once again, the DA2 romances were not the best.

Make Big Ben new bi squadmember, so everyone can enjoy his "Big Ben" if they want. And to be sure that everyone is fine with him people should be able to kill him whenever they want.

That should cover it. DA2 has bi LIs and now there has been few complains that they can´t kill x, or how to do it.

It's crazy that you talk about equality and choice. If thats the case, I want my characters to suddenly all turn English. So far they all sound American. Equal rights!!! Also I want them to all have an interest in juggling. I want all my team to talk about nothing else. I can't belive bioware are so jugglist. Also, why is everyone so slim and well built! PREJUDICE!! I want my team to start eating obscene amounts.

Like it or not bisexual people are in the minority, and to find a whole crew of bisexual team mates would be bizarre especially in a miltary operation. I'm fine with a new team mate being bi or gay but not the whole team.

LOL this.

This thread exploded. 783 replies in only 1 1/2 DAYS. I didn't realize that this was such a heated subject.

There is no consistency if none of the LI's have exclusively stated they are hetero only.  Many people have hetero relationships earlier in their life then end up falling in love with someone of the same sex.  If Kaidan can be a bisexual LI in ME3, it won't change much seeing as I doubt BioWare will go the route of gay pride parades on the Citadel and what not.

I'm also not asking that all LI's be bisexual but I really don't see the big deal in making say Kaidan or Tali open to s/s in ME3.  Tali and Garrus were used as examples of how characters can be "retconned" into being open for romance with Shepard.

Our world truly is doomed if BioWare hires a kid who likes to shout ****** ****** on
the forums and making "jokes" about sexually assaulting female LI's.  [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/pinched.png[/smilie]

That depends on how it is handeld. The ME2 team already went the cheap way and made all not romantic dialog identical for both Shepards. So several lines come across as if there is an attraction to a Shepard of the same sex but it is never acted upon. That could be used in ME3.

However I do not believe that the old squad-mates will be back. All but the VS and Liara can be dead after all. And the VS is in the same situation as the sibling in DA2, who gets removed from the rooster for the biggest part of that game too in order to safe resources. So any romances will be with new squad-mates anyway.

Really? THAT joke again? I was already banned for it, no need to keep bringing it up. Are youstill mad about that?
And there is nothing wrong with me appreciating breasts.

But like I said, if Biowaree brought in new characters that were gay or bi, I wouldn't care. I would welcome it. I just want characters being believable and constant, not just being retconned at the last minute.

I hope that the Mass 2 LIs stick around. I love Jack's character so much, it's bordering on creepy. But don't all of a sudden make her want chicks just because people perceive her to be a lesbian and that she's done threesomes and such in the past. Her character is so deep and such that she wouldn't want anyone else... Of course, I doubt she'd say no to a mshep liara jack trio in the bedroom, as long as it's purely sexual. Jack wants Shep to herself.

Chris Priestly said that the VS WILL be in ME3. Liara will be in it, too. Don't knowabout Wrex, though (I want him back!).

How will the VS be in ME3 ? As cameo, temp team mate or full team mate. The VS was in ME2 but as NPC and not as full companion and I expect the same in ME3. Liara is the only one who is guarantied to be alive at the beginning of ME3 and therefore the only one for which spending the necessary resources for a full companion can be justified even though I think it would be better if she stayed away from the squad too.

That's rather hypocritcal though since Tali being romanceable in ME2 is a retcon.  There was no indication of her orientation or feelings toward Shepard in ME1 but then she jumps on the team Shepard boat in ME2.  Why can't the same happen with another established character?

You were making rape jokes? What the hell?

You Talimancers are creeps. Plus, THE WHOLE TALIMANCE WAS A RETCON.
