So the forums at daforums.bioware.com are gone? Have any of the conversations migrated? I tried to check on my followed topics and couldn't get anywhere.  I've tried looking at the sticky threads here, but no one mentions this, unless I haven't searched deeply enough. Anyone know what's going on?

I heard they were being shut down today. I was reading a post, hit refresh and... nothing. It would be great if they moved the active threads over.

They had an announcement up for like a week on all the boards there. Unfortunately an time someone tried to discuss what that meant for the community Chris Priestly would swoop in and scream LOCKDOWN. Because talking is bad. Very bad.



They claim that those forums were to be archived, but never said WHERE. It certainly isn't at the old address.



So welcome to the social site, where 10% of the features work, nobody from bioware comments on anything and there is only one beleaguered moderator.



Please keep your hands and feet inside the posts until the site has come to a complete stop.

The only one for DA. The BioWare forums for their other games are still up.

No, the announcement of the closing date definately went up within the last week.  i spent a couple hours there on-and off each day and was online when it went up.

At first, yes. There was at least one post explaining they would keep them open until the social site was more stable.

It's a bit weird. I had to sign into my EA account because it detects whether you've used your email address before, and I had to sign into my Bioware account to use my username.

You must've been asleep.  They did shut them down from dinner time the evening before launch, until about lunch time the next day, maybe 18 hours.  Then, last Friday, I think, Chris made a new sticky saying that today was the last day, and today, at about coffee break time, it was cut loose from its site links. 

Within a couple of hours of two full weeks of extension time.  If they follow past performance, tomorrow or the next day, the old messages will show up again, archived, at the bottom of the list of forums.

The forums had a lot of useful info. Hopefully, the threads will be migrated and/or archived. I have to say the layout, massive avatars and bad use of space on this one is horrendous. If anyone gets round to some UserJS/UserCSS/Greasemonkey for fixing for the CSS on this site, post it please. I'd rather go mod the game than the forum...

This is kind of a stupid question too, but I notice that some of you (most of you, actually) have your game character as your picture there. Is that something only people who are playing this on the PC can do?

Yeah, the PC edition of the game can automatically upload your character info, including the portraits.

I actually thought xbox uploaded that info too, since most have a net connection there as well.

Yes, I play on 360 and it uploaded my first character's portrait and info. (Though slightly outdated.) It hasn't uploaded any of my other characters though, but that's probably because I haven't played enough with them yet while online.

I've just made my BioWare/EA account today; perhaps when I play in the near future, my character information will auto-load? If you don't have an EA account, whenever you start the game it asks you to sign up. I clicked through it, thinking it was a spam thingy. I suppose we'll see.

The character upload thing is terribly bugged though. It stops working for no apparent reason for many people.

Er, sorry if that has been mentioned, but why exactly were the original forums shut down for this game and the other ones for different bioware games remain?
