NO...clearly you missed the meaning behind Isabella....BEST character by far. She was able to actually BRING your companions closer together through conversation and her actions. She was the BEST!

And, Morrigan being, "hard to conquer"...doesn't make her better. She didn't really show any flexibility at all...maybe when you pusued the romance she would frown and say..".I can't"....and then she willingly performs the ritual...yadda yadda...everyone hated her a bit...etc.

With Isabella...you were told her story....see her actions develop from beginning to end...see her care for people, and fight others....see her in a rivalry with Aveline, but friends in the end...see her take care of Merril and watch out for her...calling her "Kitten" throughout the game. Watch her joke with Varric...

The list goes on and on...Isabella is THE BEST character so far in the DA Universe

And she's an absolute murderer on the battlefield.

Fenris and I are sort of Rivals....but like a Goku/Vegeta rivalry, if you guys have ever seen DBZ.

But Isabella...I thought I would be rivals with her...like a Morrigan thing....but Isabella being a "good" person was the biggest turn on for me. She was attractive, yeah...but her personality was what caught me once and for all. The way she carried herself, how she talked to people...the interesting facts and opinions she brought to the table...sign me up! Haha!

Uh...Morrigan still pretty much stays the same...but I see what you mean to a point.

And Isabella staying the same throughout makes her that much more amazing. She stays true to herself and seems like a REAL person. That's what makes her better.

AND...it takes about 7 years to even complete that romance for Isabella...but to like a FULL extent, where she finally opens up her feelings towards you. I can't tell you teh fulfillment in that moment. She finally broke down, after all those years! HUGE character moment. Imagine just liking her in that world...years pass...she leaves for like 3 years...or however long in between acts she was gone...and finally she appears...and she admits to falling for you. THAT says alot. It was meant to be, and you were on her mind the entire time for those years. She leads you on, and slowly lets you in, but she stays strong in who she is and KNOWS her identity....THAT makes her better.

Morrigan >>>>> Isabela. Why? Because by the end of Origins (1-2 year time span) I really knew who Morrigan was. I didn't really get to know Isabela at all despite the 7 year time frame. But I still like Isabela.and she is my canon LI for Mage Man-Hawke.

I didn't romance her so I didn't know about that moment, but it just seems weird to me that someone who never stays somewhere for too long (arghhh pirate!), would stick with someone for seven years. I personally prefer characters on whom you can have some effect, however small, after all you are their leader.
This is just my opinion as I didn't romance her but maybe I'll do a playthrough with her to see if she really is as good as you say.

You get to know Isabela very well, you just have to read between the lines.

Isabela didn't stick with Hawke for seven years. They meet on the second year, she stays on Kirkwall for three years looking for the relic and on Hawke's fourth year in the Free Marches, they begin their relationship. Then she does that selfless thing for Hawke that I can't spoil here and disappear for three years. When she returns, she admits her feelings for Hawke.

Thinking about it shows me how much environment dictions your views, as a male I see her as a big **** not worth my time but on the other hand in DAO Zevern and his ****iness was just funny in my head I was just like "ohh Zerven you you horny cat haha" on the other hand Isabela surface in me bad emotions when I hear here comments and the like. I'm trying to look past that to be more open minded but its just hard for me to overcome the stigma of male playboy cool-women hmm...**** (see? I don't even know a positive word to describe woman that sleeps with many men)/bad even thou only difference here is gender.
