I cant see how you can compare Morrigan to Isabela, they are two complete different type of characters, as someone already said Fenris would be the one I would compare Morrigan to and I see Isabela a more Leliana type of character

I do love Isabela, the things she said made me laugh out loud especially when she outs Carver about the Blooming Rose lol

Banter was not bad, most of the time. Combat seemed overpowered so I think devs wanted us to keep her in party. Still found her too shallow could not make myself care what happened to her, reflected in my choices. Second play through I intentionally left her out of all quests except recruitment series and long road and did not do the companion interactions or her final quest in act 2.

I was not comparing, I was simply saying how I love and loved Morrigan..yet now love Isabela :) I agree that Morrigan is more like Fenris..funny thing is, I hated Fenris. And if Isabela is comparable to Leliana..well, I hated her too when I played DAO. How weird. All in all though - god, I love Isabela like a complete saddo!! :D

Aww, it's ok.  I type as I speak and often that can be deemed as aggressive and defensive even though I mean it not to be.

Isabela and Morrigan were both great companions and romancers.
Still, I prefer Isabela.

Hmm I wonder if Isabela and Morrigan have more in common than i thought. Like Isabela, I disliked Morrigan a lot....

Have you Romanced her all the way until the end?  She does reveal why she is the way she is.

No, I was so bored of her that I left.
After the end of chapter 2, I just wanted an occasion to kill her anyway. I can't believe it wasn't offered, by the way. I kept her a bit more to see if I could just have that, but as the choices were only "actually I like you" or "that's not so bad", I just ended up giving up on her (though at least I could find a way that made me feel like she got what she deserved).

Anyway, despite that, the problem is AGAIN not only that I dislike her (I do, but it's not the worst part, I disliked Morrigan but thought it was an interesting character anyway). The problem is that she's superficial, bland and boring. Explaining why she's boring doesn't make her more interesting.

Isabella is a selfish hooker who has STD's

Morrigan had far more depth, especially in regards to her romance option.

Pfft, she's just like normal girls but with a little extra added wit and class and not so easy.

Morrigan was too, I don't know the word exactly, but what it was I wasn't a fan of. So, I never messed with Morrigan until the makin' the baby part came. Isabela was a flirtacious sex machine. Nothing more too it, she was witty and comical and I enjoyed Isabela more than any other companion in DA:O and DA2. I would let Isabela set my sail, row my boat, and check my cargo anytime!

There's the link as to why they found the 'in-depth' Morrigan more attractive..and less STD-ish

She's great, but I could never see her as something more than a fling. And I doubt that she wants more.

Oh, and if there is a comparison being drawn between Morrigan and Isabela, I'd vote for Morrigan.

Isabella is too loose. Doesn't know her place. My warrior Hawke was not impressed. A woman should be shy and submissive - Merril is more my type to be honest.

As Arishok correctly pointed out: "She is not worthy"

Oh God, she IS worthy :) I reallt didn't like Merril too much. I found her far too naive. It was cute at first but then I wanted to stab at her with my staff!

What I wrote.

Bioware seems to have really dropped the ball on romances after BG2. In BG2, there was Aerie, the sweet and vulnerable type, who was an awesome romance because it gave you something to protect. It was a logical romance. Then Bioware apparently decided that all women should be independent, loose, psychotic or just plain weird. It seems feminists took over and real men lost. It's saddening.

I've said it in another thread and will repeat it here. I think Isabella is Biowares best ever companion character. Combines humour, emotion and an interesting story. The writing, art and voice acting all came together perfectly.

Incorrect. You are probably too young to have played Baldur's Gate II, but Aerie was the best character in a Bioware game.

Otherwise, I have a special hatred for both Isabela and Anders for forcing idiotic action where their was room for compromise.

You have to admit though, in Isabela's case, the way she makes up for said idiotic/selfish action is a fantastic story twist.
