Varric, Isabella and Merril are the 3 most fun characters to have in your party throughout the game imo

everybody else just whines or scowls a lot or is uninteresting

Seriously, she's a great character. Can't get that prude stance, I've seen girls with less clothing at college.

It seems that no matter how many times I play through DA2, I just cannot find myself ever romancing anyone else. Besides the fact that I love Isabela too much and don't really like the other companions in a romantic way, but she is just..mmm mmmm..
It is funny that I am a openly gay woman in real life, yet much preferred the romance between Isabela and my male Hawke, than with my female Hawke.

While my current dudeHawke only has eyes for Fenris, I could romance Isabela with a male character. I could not romance Merrill with a male character (which actually makes it easier to play male characters... my last character romanced Anders [for the sake of the story!] and I spent thirty hours aching for Merrill... it was awful).

I don't know when I'll get around to romancing Isabela. She's not the kind of person I would really fall in love with, and I don't know how fun it would be to roleplay a character who would.

It might just be the elves for me. The Anders experiment was torturous, and his Act III rivalry path is screwed up so "for the sake of the story" didn't even turn out how it was supposed to. Biggest waste of effort ever.

Ok, the second one looks more pirate-y I guess. But they could have achieved that with the outfit without changing her face. Didn´t know Fereldan pirates had plastic surgery...

I think there is a mod for make Isabella look like dragonage 1 isabella

but i dont remember it ... search in nexus guys

Yes, Isabela is one of the better characters in my book, got some depth and she doesn't whine over and over like Fenris, Carver or Anders, such little ****es those.


One thing I found weird is that in game she hardly just has sex with anyone, in DA:O you have to convince her, have a diplomacy of 3 or 4 would be my guess, or and you are the Warden etc. not a street lout or tavern drunk, and in DA2 she tells how the tavern guests learnt to not grab her ass by breaking their fingers ~ and despite her like for Hawk she will take 3 years to get in bed, and then after that an other 3 before you have a chance again.

Yet people keep calling her a **** and a **** only because of her persona and mannerism, in that she uses her femininity and shows it of.

Throwing arguments that she is such a skank etc. for getting it on with Fenris, but only after 3 years, and only if she or Fenris has nothing to do with you.

I really don't get it ~

(Besides the story you get out of her if she does fall for you).

I liked Isabela's voice because she sounds like Angelina Jolie with an accent. That's... kinda... all I liked though.

Also, her name is ISABELA, I-S-A-B-E-L-A. One "L". It drives my inner OCD child utterly mad when people call her Isabella. Just... had to get that out there

Hah! This winds me up also so you're not alone. I am thinking of calling my child Isabela (as sad as this may seem). What d'ya reckon?

It's a pretty name. I know several Isabelas IRL.

You worry me when you say things like that. I get this image of you trying really hard to thin of some ingenious punishment. Only, it's not fun punishment like one would expect from a desire "spirit." It's real punishment. With heartbreak.

My main issue with Merrill is her grey skin and those undergarments ~ I wonder if Bioware got lazy and just decided to have Merrill use the stripper clothing, or if they actually meant for her to use it from the start.

Outside that I didn't mind that romance.
