Ah Isabela...

The funniest thing is that on Dragon Age Nexus, the fifth most endorsed mod for DA2 is a mod called Isabela Pants and Shorts.

Now, THIS I can totally understand. Fighting with no pants on is something that should only happen in porn and bad fanfictions............

BUT this:

Second most downloaded mod instead give her white skin

I find a bit worrying..... What´s wrong with her being darkskinned........

Lol.

Morrigan was many times better than Isabela in pretty much every aspect, even if you didn't like her (Morrigan) you have to admit that she was a way deeper and more fleshed out character than that rather simple and sleazy pirate. Yes, I liked Morrigan and haaaaated Isabela. A lot.

I don't think you are giving Isabela enough credit.  Also as far as a companion goes she was a much better companion than Morrigan.  Don't get me wrong, I liked Morrigan too but Isabela is much more than just a sleazy pirate.  They are almost so different though that they really aren't good for comparisons.

As a male and a feminist I would never say there is a good argument for oppressing women etc.

Of course there isn´t. But all feminists I have ever met are working damn hard at creating some.
Which is exactly why i dislike them.

As a feminist,

Eh, sorry to hear this.

Thank you, it's been a difficult time for everyone in the family.

Still, it offers me a good chance to question one of you:

I'm always glad to answer the questions of someone who just said they despise me. And I'm sure you won't come up with 'questions' that are simply a series of veiled insults based on your own viewpoints.

Why are you like that? Is there a reason to want to oppress men instead of stand for equality?

.... or maybe not.

Of course, disdainful comments and evading a valid question are good ways of bringing your point across, and possibly even making someone understand it.

But whatever, that´s off-topic. Back to Isabella.

Oh don't worry, since Twilight every 12 year old thinks that a LI must be pale as a sheet.

Beats me. It's not even lore frendly since she is from Rivain.
BUT. I'll probably use the mod if I'll ever go for the romance. I prefer fair skinned red head girls. It would make it less of a pain, since I dislike her personality quite a bit :wizard:

Yes but I think it says something about a person who would change a woman´s skin color just to bang her (even if it´s only in a game)... and not something nice at that.

I mean, I can understand different tastes, personally I prefer pale myself, but hey... there´s Merrill. Who is, imo, a better character anyways.

Nah.
Well, yes.  Even with PS3 games I always aim to platinum.
But in this case is more like: ehy, I paid for this, I should just explore all the possibilities!
That said, with Origins I can manage, but I don't know if I'll be able to do multiple playthroughs of DA2 to explore the various romances, or the 3 different 'character alignments'. I find the game quite boring.

It seems that her character designer failed quite a bit with the panty flashing bit...

I got this one, since I really don't like her companion armour, it being pretty horrible for any sort of combat.

The blue pants work decently.

It's fair, but a bit awkward since it goes against lore and logic (lore being the rivani part, and logic being the part about she being a sailor, since they usually don't stay fair skinned in the area of the world Rivani and Kirkwall are present).

Too much feminism, and don´t click any links in there. You may vomit from the insane amount of feminism..........

from the wiki.
  • Feminism is a collection of movements aimed at defining, establishing and defending equal political, economic, and social rights and equal opportunities for women.[1][2][3] Its concepts overlap with those of women's rights. Much of feminism deals specifically with the problems women face in overcoming social barriers, but some feminists argue that gender equality
implies a necessary liberation of both men and women from traditional
cultural roles, and look at the problems men face as well. Feminists—that is, persons practicing feminism—may be persons of either sex.

There is a vehement anti-feminism that tries to highlight extemeistic feminism as the true face of it, something its clearly not; to see people fall into it is sad.

Opinions, I like both, but prefer Isabela.

I found Morrigan more comical, with a wit that resonated bettter with me, but opposed to your views I found her less interesting and deep character wise.

(I also found Leliana deeper than Morrigan, and actually many others).

I didn't like Isabela at first for the reasons you wrote, I found her shallow and a tragic edition to the game - until you started to get more of the character.

It's presented rather badly visually on the other hand, esp. the clothing.

Guess you never heard of loincloths - or the Celts, who often fought completely nude.

PS I'm a feminist also. BOW TO ME LITTLE MAN!

You can never be too feminist or too rich.

About rich I agree. But you CAN be too feminist.

I truly detest them. Feminists are the best argument in favour of oppressing women and against women rights in this world, and I have an instant dislike towards anything that makes intolerant douchebags seem right.

As a male and a feminist I would never say there is a good argument for oppressing women etc.  That being said I do think you can be too "insert anything here".  It's called fanaticism/extremeism to which I am greatly opposed.

the kinda of people who would download that kind of mods is the kind of people i would never want as companions in a game (in the hypothetical case some game dev could create a character based upon them) and is the kind of people i would never care to befriend irl.  they show to be too mediocre at best, too dull, too boring and with a horrible taste.  im surprised they even play this kind of games!

to each their own i guess!  i guess in their perfect dream world every human being should be blonde red haired and blue eyed!

i find everything about isabela perfectly done, including her outfit.

[*]Well, I trust my own experiences much more than any wiki, in that aspet.
[*]Fighting for equal rights is not feminism, it is just something that makes you a normal human instead of a big, dumb assclown.

i'm sure yours is even worse:devil:  just kidding!p

she is one of the few good looking female characters in the whole game in my opinion, and i think you are just letting your dislike for her blind your judgement if you think she is ugly .  iether that or you need glasses badly.

leliana who was supposed to be an orlesian beauty in origins!  in da2  she got a pig face.

there are only 3 attractive female characters in the entire game.  that is Bethany, Cassandra and Isabela

In fact in DA:O I replaced Leliana and Morrigan faces with some looking like the sacred ashes trailer.
I don't think so.
For example I dislike almost all of the new elven faces, but Merril is cute (have to agree that she i less alien the most of other elves).
Cassandra suffer the same problem of Isabela. The jaw. There's something incredibly worng with their jaws.

I see and hear enough politics as it is without seeing it in a forum.

So without further ado, Isabela is  a well defined character and in my opinion looks great, feels great....ooops i mean fights great.
Plus she and Merrill get along well together...actually i almost believe Merrill is in love with Isabela as i am. :)
