Well, I usually love BioWare games. Haven't finished KOTOR1 but really like it and LOVE the crap out of Mass Effect 1 & 2 and Dragon Age: Origins, although never got to play Awakening.

Dragon Age II is probably 'one' of the more disappointing games I have played this generation of gaming. I usually never trade in my games this quick after release, but that's how disappointed I am with this rushed out game. A spokesperson from EA says it, IGN points it out, and a trusted site Kotaku points it out. I'm most definitely not alone in this besides the fans.

For the people who love it, I can understand on some part why...

The big boobs, the story was not bad, the combat was improved, and I loved seeing old faces, and other things, but I'm overshadowed by all the disappointment I can't remember all the good and point them out.

But I feel, and it's obvious whether you love the game too, can see the many, MANY mistakes this game has.

The level designs were bland and boring, the graphics very much out of date by 5-6 years including the awful texturing, the sound affects were not 'realistic' enough for instance the sound of clanking armor, just about all of the levels were linear which can be very much compared to Final Fantasy XIII, the floating weapons on many character's backs and floating features on a character such as Hawke's mustache not completely applied to his face, the many side quests which is not a bad thing, but in order to reach the max level drives you so far away from the main plot you almost forget what the main storyline is about unless you read the codex or played only the main side quests, the cut scenes were bland and stale with almost no life put into them, many objects going through things, the constant pop ups.

Also...

This is the 1st time in this post I 'rage' but...

The sheer laziness of not being able to customized your teammates with actual armor, making almost all the items gained completely useless, especially if you're not a Warrior class and making your bonus items pointless to have.

If I were to go back and play, I could point out a few more good and a lot more not so good. But when a lot of fans of BioWare come out and constructively point out why a game is not good, that tells you something. As a fan who may love the game, it may not bother you, but does not mean these disappointments do not exist.

As a fan of BioWare games and Dragon Age, it sucks to say I very much dislike this game and does not deserve anymore of my money on DLC. If future DLC comes out and is actually worth buying, I'll buy this game used for the same amount I traded it in, almost as if I always had it with me.

This is what happens when great companies like BioWare get put under EA. Half-assed, low quality games.

PS. Dead Space and Mass Effect are the exception.
